Marjorie L. Bornholdt
Marjorie L. Bornholdt, age 92, died on May 8, "2009 in Olathe, Kan.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1917, in Greensburg, Kan. and spent most of her youth in Augusta. Marjorie received her R.N. at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and studied psychiatric nursing at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
She went on to teach psychiatric nursing at Topeka State Hospital, and worked as a coordinator with the Topeka-Shawnee County Health Department before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora Schulz and George Schulz, and her husband, John L. Bornholdt.
Marjorie is survived by: her son, Thomas H. Born-holdt, of Olathe ; her daughter, Joan L. Edwards of Park City, Utah and New York, NY.;
grandchildren, Margaret Bornholdt of Lawrence, Amanda Edwards of New York, NY, Mitchel Wilson-Brown of Lenexa, Stephanie Brown, of Kansas City, Mo.,and Sarah Knudsen, of Olathe; several great-granchildren.

Lorene McBeth
Lorene (Padgett) McBeth, 92, Augusta, former Leon resident, died on Monday, May 11, 200.9.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the Leon Christian Church. Interment will follow in Leon Cemetery.
Lorene was born on April 18, 1917 in King-man, Kan., the daughter of George and Lottie (Garrison) Padgett. She graduated from Kingman High School and Wichita Business College. She was a homemaker and had lived in Leon since 1960, moving from Kingman.
She was a member of the Leon Christian Church and Eastern Star, and was an avid knitter.
In. 1939, she married Harold McBeth and he passed away in 1983. She married Kenneth Long in 1995 and he preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded by her parents.
Her survivors include: John (Francie) of Andover, Sharon (Lloyd) Bingham of Albuquerque, NM, Tom (Randi) McBeth of Harper, Kathy Murray of Clarksville, Tenn.; sjster, Lyna Parker of Abilene, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nephews, Quay Parker and Quanah Parker, both of Abilene, Texas.
Memorials in her memory for the Leon Christian Church may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado, where friends may call. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.carlsoncoloniaI.com.
