Warren Dale Walton

Warren Dale Walton, 90, Augusta, joined his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 28, 2009.
Funeral service was held yesterday at the Augusta First Baptist Church. Interment with military honors followed at Augusta’s Elmwood Cemetery.
Dale was born on Nov. 4, 1919 in Sabetha, Kan. to Carrie Mae and Moses Aaron Walton. He was the youngest of eight children, four boys and four girls.
Dale joined the National Guard on Dec. 9,1940 and his unit was activated on Dec. 23, 1940. He was a radio man for Battery 8, 127th Field Artillery, 35th Division.
He served during WWII in Europe and was discharged on Nov. 3, 1945 with the rank of Tech Sergeant.
Dale married Shirley Jean Phelps on Nov. 4, 1947. in Wichita. To this union two children were born. The family moved to Augusta in 1950, when he first worked for the Mobil Oil refinery and then later for the Coleman Company in Wichita. He retired from Coleman in 1981.
He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Shirley of the home; daughter, Jean Ann Walton of Augusta; son, Gerald Warren Walton of Wichita;
many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Lawrence, Kenneth, Ivan, Pansy, Lillian, Lila, and Mabel.
Memorials may go to the Augusta First Baptist Church Bus Fund.

Debra Ann Summers

Debra Ann Summers, 44, Timnath, Colo., formerly of El Dorado and Topeka, died May 26, 2009, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado.
She is survived by: her husband, George; three children, Crystal, Christopher and Carolyn; her mother, Nancy and her husband, Charlie Ketter-man; brother, Brad Davenport; sister, Sherry Cowan.
Debbie was preceded ip death by her father, Harold Davenport, Jr.

(Darnman) Stolte, 81, Hiawatha, died on Friday, May 29, 2009.
Funeral service was held today
at the Zion Lutheran Church in Linn, Kan. Interment was at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Survivors include: daughters, Carol (Larry) Walter of Hiawatha, Betty (Gary) Hilton of Augusta; grandchildren, Paula (Joey) Riedelberger, John (Sheila) Cameron, Lance (Karla) Hilton, Margo (Brian) Fries, Brandon Walter, Chad (Megan) Hilton; seven great-grandchildren, three step greatgrandchildren; sister, Marcine Duensing of Marysville; a sister-in-law, Helen Stolte; a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer
Society/Maple Heights Relay For Life Tearrp or Zion Lutheran Church in Linn or Hiawatha.

Lydia Stephenson, age 93, Derby, homemaker, died Monday, June 1, 2009.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. today, with family present 5-7 p.m.; funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby.
Survivors: son, Calvin Stephenson, Park C'ty; daughters, Jane (Larry) Denny, Augusta, Barbara (David) Bell, Wichita; brother. Koch, Car-son City, NV: sister,
Amelia Boese, Oklahoma City; grandchildren. Dana Fultz. Mark Denny, Jeremy Stephenson, Shannon Stephenson, Shelly Kay; six great-grandchildren.
Lydia preceded in death by her husband. Cecil, one brother and two step-sisters.
A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
