Randall D. Howard
Randall Dean Howard, 83, Andover, passed away July 26,2009.
Services have been held for this World War II Navy serviceman.
He and his wife, Betty Jo, had two daughters, Rikki Nuttall of Houston, TX, and Rhonda Schulz of Andover.
Mr. Howard is also survived by a brother, a sister, three grandchildren, three step-grandchildre, six great grands, seven step-great grands, numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward D. Paschal
Edward D. Paschal, 49, Augusta, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4,2009.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery.
He worked as a groundskeeper for the Augusta school district.
Survivors include his parents, Irving and Vira Paschal, three sons, Nathan, Justin, and Sean, and a step-daughter Tracy, a grandson, 13 brothers and sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Harold Glen ‘Buzz’ Bechtold
After a seven year battle with cancer, former Augustan Harold Glen “Buzz” Bechtold, 85, of Midwest City, Okla., passed away on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009.
Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 pm at the Barnes Friederich Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 13. Services will be at 10 am on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at the Funeral Home Chapel in Midwest City.
Place of rest will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, Kansas, with graveside services at 3 pm, Friday with Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home handling the local arrangements.
Buzz was born on Feb. 29, 1924, as a leap year baby in Augusta to Jessie May Hartman Bechtold and John W. Bechtold.
He graduated from Augusta High School in 1941 and then joined the
U. S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and served until
December 1945. He was a fighter pilot in the Black Sheep Squadron and flew P-38s in the Pacific Theatre.
On June 28, 1955, he married Betty Keck of Rock, Kansas. He retired as a Contractor Liaison Management Representative for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, Inc. to Tinker Air Force Base.
He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service where he also retired. Buzz enjoyed watching all the grandkids activities; OU, OSU and MWC Bomber sports; hunting; and fishing.
Buzz is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Bechtold; sons, Linden (Darlene) Bechtold ol Midwest City and Bill (Jenny) Bechtold ol Wichita Falls, Texas; anc daughter, Kim Bechtolc Miller of Lenexa, Kansas
grandchildren, Brian, Josh, Jansen, Derrick, Ryan, Katie, Ashley, Jacob, Malorey, Samantha, Turner; great granddaughter, Elizabeth; nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Helen Bechtold; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Louie Howerter and Henrietta and George Bilimek; sister, Melba Bechtold; and great nephew, Doug Howerter.
Memorials to the Parsons Free Community Clinic in care of funeral home.
