Lyda Jane Bassingthwaighte

Lyda Jane (Keel) Bassingthwaighte, 88, Augusta, passed away on Friday,
Aug. 14, 2009 at Via Christi St. Francis Harry Hynes Inpatient Unit in Wichita.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 19 at the First Christian Church of Augusta. An additional memorial service will follow at Anastasia Island, Florida at a later date.
Lyda was born on Jan. 19, 1921 in Gainesville, Texas to Earnest Lee and Grace Edwin (Mason) Keel. She married Edward James Bassingthwaighte on April 22, 1939 in Dallas Texas. She was an Architectural Accountant and Secretary in Dallas and Savannah, Ga. for over 40 years. She lived most of her life in Dallas, Texas and moved to Jacksonville, Fla. in 1998.
Survivors include: her two sons and their spouses, James “Jim” (Carolyn) Bassingthwaighte of St. Johns, Fla. and Robert “Bob” (Tricia) Bassingthwaighte of Augusta; three grandchildren, Tara and Dirk Bassingthwaighte of Augusta and M.S. Tennyson and great-grandson Dalton of St. Augustine, Fla.
Her parents and her spouse all preceded her in death.
Memorials have been established with the Augusta First Christian Church and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Clinton Dee Custer

Clinton Dee Custer, 73, Augusta, died on Friday, Aug. 14,2009.
Funeral service was held Monday at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita. Interment was in Forgan, Okla.
He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Cindy Schleining and Sandra Noel; son, Johnny Custer; brother, Raymond Custer; siter, Carolyn Brooker; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Loy Brazell

Loy Oleta (Hill) Brazell, 93, Augusta, homemaker, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15,2009.
Funeral service was held this morning at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Survivors include: her son, Larry (Kathy) Brazell; her daughter, Janice Barr; daughter-in-law Marlene Brazell; 8 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Loy was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; Robert in 1979 and her son Roy in 1989.
A memorial has been established with Lakecrest Bible Baptist Church, 1709 Socony, Augusta, 67010, or in care of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.


Don Gene “Donnie” Ehret

Don Gene “Donnie” Ehret, 72, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died on Wednesday, Aug. 12,2009.
Funeral service was held today at Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita.
He graduated from AHS in 1954 and served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.
He is survived by: his wife, Chamaiporn; daughter, Diana; two grandsons; uncle, Merle Ehret; many cousins.
