David R. Burns Rites Thursday
Memorial services for David Randall Burns, 80, 1214 Helen, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
He died Monday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born March 7, 1903 in Viola, Ark., to George Edgar and Sarah Spurlock Bums.
He married Earlene Gravely July 18, 1949 in Augusta. She survives.
A memorial has been established with the Elks Kids Christmas Fund in Augusta.
He was a retired treater at Mobil Oil Co.
He was a member of the Augusta Methodist Church and the Moose Club. He was former president of the Augusta Country Club and a former manager and trustee of B.P.O.E. 1462.
Other survivors include sons, Bob of Augusta, Obrey O., of Granada Hills, Calif., J.D. of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter, Kay Norton of Overland Park; brothers, Norman of Burleson, Texas and George of Sparta, Mo.; sisters, Bea Ewalt, Tura Mae Decker and Lela Williams, all of Augusta, Lucy Cotter of Caulfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Edith Hillis Dies At 80
Edith S. Hillis, 80, Wichita, sister of Ed Strode of Augusta, died Sunday.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Downing and Lahey Mortuary in Wichita. Dr. Vernon Reffner will officiate and burial will be in Dunlap Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.
Other survivors include a son, Charles of Wichita; daughters, Melva Jean Murphy of Rose Hill, Mary Shook of Wichita; a brother, Maurice Strode of Gravois Mill, Mo.; sisters, Velma Haigh, Alma Shane, both of Wichita, and Jay Messick of Fort Collins, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Former Leon Area Resident Dies
Mrs. Guy (Berniece) Barnhill, 89, a former resident of the Leon area, died Jan. 11 in Allison Care home in Lakewood, Colo. Her funeral and burial were in Salida, Colo., Jan. 14.
Berniece Alma Cowen Barnhill was born July 31, 1894, in Littleton, Colo. At an early age, she moved to Cripple Creek where she was raised.
In 1911, she married Arthur Cowen, who died in 1947. She married Guy E. Barnhill of Leon in 1948 in San Francisco and lived in the Leon area until 20 years ago when they moved to Eden Manor in Denver. Mr. Barnhill died in 1982.
Mrs. Barnhill was a member of the Baptist church and the Little Walnut chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of Leon.
Survivors include two sons, Virgil Cowen of Tracy, Calif., and Homer Cowen of Denver; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Ex-Douglass Resident Dies
Betty Morgan, 65, Winfield, formerly of Douglass, died Saturday in Winfield.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Cumberland Cemetery. Rev. Janet Sevier will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass City Library and the Douglass United Methodist Church.
She was born May 5, 1918 in Douglass to Leslie and Flora Armstrong Redford.
She was a retired practical nurse for the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.
She was a member of the Douglass Methodist Church.
Survivors include Wallace Redford of Wichita, Raymond Redford of Hutchinson, M.R. Redford of Cambridge and Jeff Redford of Lions; a sister, Irene Hughes of Claflin.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge or arrangements.

Mother Dies
Cecil A. Cherryholmes, 82, El Dorado, mother of Elenor Joy Lambing of Douglass, died Wednesday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Wayne Sharp will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery there.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
She was born Sept. 11, 1901 in El Dorado to David K. and Ella Irwin Milbourn.
She married Lyall Cherryholmes June 2, 1925 in El Dorado. He survives.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in El Dorado and formerly a member of the Latham EHU and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She moved to El Dorado from Latham in 1982.
Survivors also include a son, Dr. Cleo H. Cherryholmes of
Okemos, Mich.; another daughter, Deloris Ella Mae
Kennedy of El Dorado; brothers, Donald Milbourn of El Dorado and Wayne Milbourn of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Marion Thompson and Lois Pierce, both of El Dorado, and Florence Millis of Oxnard, Calif.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Alfred Dester Dies At 74
Alfred M. Dester, 74, of Towanda died Saturday.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Temple Baptist Church in El Dorado.
A memorial has been established with the Fairview Baptist Church in Towanda.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalind; sons, Donald of Towanda, Anthony of Wichita; daughter, Jeannette Bradshaw of Towanda and eight grandchildren.
