Lillian Craft Dies At 94
Lillian H. Craft, 94, Douglass, died Saturday at a Winfield hospital.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the First Christian Church in Douglass. Jim Loresen will officiate and burial will be in the Highland Cemetery at Winfield.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
She was born Aug. 12,, 1889 in Douglass to Rufus and Melissa Lovelady Lichlyter.
She married Chester Craft Nov. 16, 1910 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1960.
She was a retired beauty shop manager.
Survivors include five nephews, Frank Knowlton of Hutchinson, Daryl Knowlton of Lennox, S.D., Ober Lichlyter of Augusta, Frank Lichlyter of Livingston, Calif., Moyne Lichlyter of Santa Barbara, Calif., and seven nieces, Frances Masden of Sterling, Fern Harper of Augusta, Audrea Muck of Valley Center, Vesta Hyde of Sacramento, Calif., Ruth Knadle of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Mary Burns of Park City and Judy Burks of Sioux City, Iowa.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Stepfather Dies At 81
Henry J. Nightengale, 81, Newton, stepfather of Harvey Snyder and Harold Schneider, both of Douglass, died Sunday at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton.
His funeral will be at at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Newton. Rev. David Johns will officiate and burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery there.
A memorial has ben established with the Zion Lutheran Church and the American Heart Association.
He was born Aug. 10, 1902 in Russia to John and Lena Nightengale.
He married Catherine Schneider. She died in 1961.
He married Amelia Penner May 2, 1965 in Newton. She survives.
He was a retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. employee and farmer.
Other survivors include stepsons Lynn Snyder of Wichita, Irvin Penner of Wichita, Donald Penner of Hillsboro, Virgil Penner of Newton; stepdaughters, Alice Maxwell of Chanute, Vyrnia Hopkins of Emporia; a sister, Marie Klassen of Hillsboro; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Lee F. Norton, Leon, died last night at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta.

Lee Norton Dies In El Dorado
Lee Frederick Norton, 82, Leon, died Monday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Chester Bodenhamer of the Leon Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born March 7, 1901 in Oklahoma to John and Daisy Norton.
He married Frances R. McKnight Aug. 26, 1931 in Wichita. She preceded him in death in 1978.
He married Edith Rash, May 31, 1980 in Haverhill. She survives.
He was a retired state highway department employee and a farmer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leon.
Other survivors include sons, Clinton Clare Norton and Otha Max Norton, both of Overland Park; daughters, Xyla Johnson of Liberal and Zyta (Cookie) Lucas of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Ira Norton of Olathe, Colo.; sister, Gladys Clingenpeel of Rosemond, Calif; 11 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and 15 step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
