Ralph “Red” Rhyne

Ralph "Red" Richard Rhyne, 88, loving hus-| band and grandpa of Augusta, passed away Tuesday, March 16,2010.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 18 and service 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Ralph "Red" was born in Rantoul, Kan. on Oct. 26,1921; the son of the late James Luther and Eva Cornelia (Thompson) Rhyne. After graduating from Gorham High School in 1939, he served in the Army as a first sergeant in the European and Pacific theatres during W.W. II. While living in Russell, Ralph earned the nickname "Red", where he owned caterpillars and did excavating work in the oilfields. Red served as a director of the Russell State Bank for over 20 years. He lived in
Russell most of his life before moving to Augusta in 1989. On Oct. 25,1986 he married Karen (Lipprand) in Augusta and she survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived and missed by step son, Kevin Call and wife Sandy; granddaughter Sarah Call; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Nita L. Bedwell, Dorothy Black and Doris Dean; and brother, Francis Rhyne.

John C. Belden

John C. Belden, 75, Wichita, retired printing pressman, died on Friday, March 12,2010.
The family gathered on March 14 at Lyons, Kan. for a memorial tribute.
Survivors include: wife, Sue Belden; children, Stewart (Diane) Belden of Andover, Dana Belden Love of San Antonio, Texas, Steve (Michele) Belden of Lucas, Texas, and Debra (John) Cauthron of Sterling; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Buddy Sigwig

Buddy Murl Sigwig, 74, Wichita, retired Cudahy meat packer and truck driver, died on Thursday, March 11,2010.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, Wichita. The
U.S. Navy Honor Guard will honor his service to our country.
He is survived by: wife, Carolyn; sons, Christopher (Sheryl) Sigwig of Douglass, Martin (Susan) Sigwig of Halstead, and Michael (Jacki) Sigwig of Florence; four grandchildren.

James E. Beckett

James Edward Beckett, 86, Wichita, retired Beech Aircraft manager of plant engineering, and U.S. Army Air Corps, on Sunday, March 14, 2010.
Viewing and visitation will be 8:30-10 a.m., when the service will begin on Friday, March 19, at Mission Chapel Mausoleum, Wichita. Entombment immediately following the I service.
He is survived by: son, James Russell (Sally) Beckett of Andover; step daughter, Elizabeth Kay of Wichita; step son, James H. Kauffman of Florence, Italy; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Humane Society.
