Everett McClelland Dies At Hospital
Everett Eugene McClelland,
57, Plainville, died Sunday,
Feb. 19, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Plainville Christian Church. There will be Masonic graveside services.
A memorial has been established with the heart fund.
He was born March 23, 1926 in Kansas to Harry and Lula Culick McClelland.
He married Betty Chappell Feb. 14, 1948 in Newton. She survives.
McClelland was a gang pusher for Cities Service Oil Co.
He served in the military during World War II.
Other survivors include daughters, Terrial Malin and Ronda Fletcher, both of Plainville; his father, Harry McClelland of Augusta; a brother, Glenn McClelland of Augusta; sisters, Naomi Rhue of Arlington, Texas, and Dorothy Voight of Leon, and three grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. George Chappell of Augusta, his inlaws, also survive.
Mosher Funeral Home at Plainville is in charge of arrangements.

Galen Morley’s Mother Died
Mrs. William (June) Morley, 87, Belleville, mother of Augusta auctioneer-realtor Galen Morley, died Monday at her daughter's home in Wayne, Kan.
Her funeral was held today at the Wesleyan Church in Belleville. Rev. Gary Brewster and Rev. Caire W. Dunbar officiated and burial was in the Belleville cemetery.
In addition to her son here, Mrs. Morley leaves two other sons, Loren of Belleville and Mahlon of Belle Plaine; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Twila) Horkman of Wayne, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Morley was a homemaker, member of the Belleville Wesleyan Church and the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Memorials to the Republic County Historical Society have been suggested.
The Tibbetts Brothers Funeral Home of Belleville was in charge of arrangements.
B.R. Anderson Died Monday
Bryant R. Anderson, 75, Leon, died Monday.
His funeral will be at the United Methodist Church in Leon. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a wife, Opal; sons, Elmo of Helena, Okla., Raymond of Leon; daughters, Ona Gannon of
Cherokee, Okla., Tressie Folger of Wichita, Ethel Martin of Granbury, Texas, Twila Tatum of Newton, Mary Joy of Anacortes, Wash., Kay Hall of Atlanta; sister, Mary Kerr of Enid, Okla.; 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
The Grapes Funeral Home in Cherokee, Okla., is in charge of arrangements.
Ex-Douglass Resident Dies
Mary E. Barker Jessup, 88, Arkansas City, formerly of Douglass, died Feb. 18 at a nursing home there.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Douglass Cemetery. Dr. Theodore Jacobs will officiate.
She was born March 19, 1895 in Dixon, Mo., to James and Nancy Oxendine Harmon.
She married Wade R. Jessup Oct. 6, 1942 in Winfield. He preceded her in death in November of 1983.
Survivors include sons, Henry H. Barker of Arkansas City, Norman D. Barker of Winfield, Jack H. Barker of Lincoln, Ark., and J.D. Barker of Canehill, Ark.; daughters, Naomi Nichols of Tucson, Ariz., Phyllis Keim of Redlands, Calif., and Nancy Sullivan of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Emitt Harmon of Sun City, Ariz; 27 grandchildren and 47 and two great-great-grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.
