Former Augustan Dies In Arkansas
Jim Milton Conrow, 58, Rogers, Ark., formerly of Augusta, died Tuesday at a Veterans Administration hospital in Fayetteville, Ark., after a short illness.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin, Mo. George Whitfield will officiate and burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery there.
For 25 years he worked as a supervisor at Beech Aircraft Co., before retiring in 1976.
He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served as post commander of the VFW Post in Augusta.
Survivors include five stepsons, Dan Wedel, Dennis Wedel, Duane Wedel, all of Augusta; Dickie Wedel of Hutchinson, are Daryl Wedel of Cassville, Mo.; daughters, Pam Ryan of Fort Collins, Colo, Rebecca Pippin of Willington, Colo., and Donna Peterson of Augusta; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Cortow of Fort Collins; brothers, Bob Con-row of Joplin and Ralph Conrow of Portland, Ore; 18 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

John L. Thomas Died In Wichita
John L. Thomas, 86, Douglass, died Thursday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Douglass. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Resthaven Sunset Memorial Park in Ponca City, Okla.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass Public Library.
He was born Jan. 17, 1898 in Washburn, Mo., to John L. and Louisa Rhoades Thomas.
He married Twila Hanes June 15, 1973. She survives.
He was a retired Continental Oil Co. employee.
Other survivors include a son, Robert of Edmond, Okla.; daughter, Donna Thorpe of Ponca City; stepdaughters, Ellouise Gimple, Genevee Haskin, both of Douglass, Verda Hanes of Wichita; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
The Hilyard-Smith Mortuary of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Marshall Dies In California
S. Kenneth Marshall, 77, of San Mateo, Calif., formerly of Leon, died there Tuesday.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Leon Christian Church. Rev. Tony Venturella will officiate and burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
A memorial has ben established with the Kansas Masonic Home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1906 in Leon to Morton and Eleanor Martin Marshall.
He married Thelma Fitzpatrick Jan. 18, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She survives.
He was a retired salesman.
The Carlson Funeral Home of El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Lula Howard
Lula Howard, mother of Augustan Maurice Howard, died this morning at a nursing home in Mulvane. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Father Dies In Eureka
Harold O. Butler, 79, Eureka, father of Richard Butler of Augusta, died Saturday at the Greenwood County hospital in Eureka.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Campbell Funeral Home there. Rev. Greg Sorenson will officiate and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
He was born June 7, 1904 in Greenwood County.
He married Hazel Nelson Jan. 5, 1924 in Eureka. She survives.
He was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include sons, Glen of Eureka, Wayne of El Dorado, Albert of Neal, Jack of Waynesville, Mo., Steven of Humboldt; daughters, Dorothy Vinson, Wanda Frakes, both of Eureka, Dixie Holm of Morrison, Colo.; 35 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
