George Morain

George Epelett Morain, 84, Wichita, ironworker, Wichita Local 606, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010, at the Kansas Soldiers Home,
Ft Dodge.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. this evening; service at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, both at the Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home in Augusta.
He was born April 12, 1925 to Leland and Ocie (Osburn) Morain in Mound Valley, Kan. and married Alta May , July 6, 1956.
George served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He enjoyed | gardening and | always enjoyed being together with his family.
He was a member of the Cumberland Community Bible Church and later the First Christian Church in Winfield.
Survivors: daughters, Shirley (Joe) McNulty, Gardner and Diana (Jerry) Lawson, Augusta; sister, Viola Guier, Winfield; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home in Augusta.

World War II, he served as a Browning automatic rifleman with Company G, 415th Regiment, 104th Infantry Division "Timberwolf."
Dale was born January 8,1913 in Searcy County, Ark. to Samuel and Ola (Shipman) Blair. He married Norma J. (Hutton) on July 28,1934. Norma and infant son, Dale Vaughn preceded him in death.
He is survived by daughters, Norma Lynne (Bob) Nichols of Rose Hill, and Neva Lee Rogers of Panama City, Fla.; son, Jarrell Boyd (Becky) Blair of Augusta; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Shirley “Sherry” Stryker

Shirley “Sherry” Letts Stryker, Ph.D., 88, Andover, college professor and author, died peacefully at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Andover Central Park Lodge, 1607 E. Central in Andover.
Survivors include: daughters, Terry Stryker Merrifield and Patricia Ann Stryker; five grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Christine Stryker.
Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home, Andover.

Effie Seay

Effie Seay, 86, Albuquerque, NM, died on March 17, 2010.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Her survivors are: sons, Ernest John (Kristy) Seay of Augusta, and Ronald Seay of Odessa, Texas; brother, Talbert Traylor of Laurel, Miss.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
(Charter) Nagel. She married Carl Fredrick Burrows on July 11,1954 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Carl of the home; sons, David (De-lores) Burrows of Augusta and Larry (Debbie) Burrows of Augusta; daughters, Linda (Max) Barnaby of Wichita and Beverly (David) Johnston of Augusta; sisters, Patty (Jim) Rowe of Grayling, Mich, and Fran (Herm) Kaserman of Cleveland, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ves and Edward Nagel; sister, Mary Freer; granddaughter, Shelia Burrows and great-grandson Justin Barnaby.
A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
