Evelyn Pierce

Evelyn Illene (Davis) Pierce, 85, Augusta, retired nurse, passed away, Sunday, March 21, 2010.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 26, followed with a graveside service at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance.
Evelyn was born on Nov. 14,1924, to Frank and Mary (Anderson) Davis in Midian, Kan.
She married J.C. Pierce, Aug. 6,1948 in Yates Center, Kan.
Her survivors include: her son James (Diana) Pierce of Augusta; grandchildren, Jon (Dana) Pierce, Stephanie (Rick) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Kelli, Skylar, Garrett and Molly; one great-great-grandson,
Brice.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; son, Clinton Pierce; brother, Franklin Davis; sisters, Alberta Kinney, Velma Kissire and Mildred Allen.
A memorial has been established with First Christian Church, 1600 State Street, Augusta, KS 67010, or in care of the funeral home.


David D. “Dave” Walker

David D. "Dave" Walker, 78, retired Boeing Master Tooling Manufacturer, of Augusta, passed away Monday, March 22,2010.
Visitation 6-8 p.m.
Walker
Thursday and service 2 p.m. Friday both at Headley Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado.
David was born in Latham, Kan. on April 29,1931, the son of the late Alfred Dale and Lu-cretia F. (Oliver) Babb Walker. He was awarded several medals and received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army in 1953, after he served with 'C' Company, ----------- 820th Engineering Aviation Battalion, during the Korean War. David very much enjoyed his time with family and friends, traveling, hunting, fishing, and playing guitar.
Dave is survived by: daughters, Donna (Dee) Hennette and husband Richard of Wichita and Karen Poff and husband Tim of Carrollton, Texax; step sons, Kenneth Allen and Todd Allen of El Dorado; sister, Josephine Ades, niece, Peggy Rutherford and husband
Jim, of Montrose, Colo.; 5 grandchildren; 6 greatgrandchildren; 2 great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by: son Michael David Walker; daughter Charmaine Janell "Jan" Walker; and wife Judie (Blake) Allen Walker of Augusta.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements by Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
