Hattie Klein

Hattie Bonnie (Cody) Carner Klein, 98, of Augusta, passed away on
Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Lakepoint of Augusta.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1; funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, June 2, both at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Hattie was born to Edward James and Eliza Bell (Sonders) Cody on Aug. 30,1911 in Butler County, Kan. On July 21, 1927, she married Wesley William Carner. He preceded her in death on April 16,1946. She then married George Jacob Klein on Nov. 15,1963. He preceded her in death on May 21,1970.
She was a homemaker and retired from the Walnut Valley Nursing Home kitchen staff.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Barbara Nelson and Janice Lee; 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: son, Bill Carner of Round Lake, 111.; daughter, Bonnie Furgason of Augusta,
21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established with Lakepoint of Augusta in care of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.


Opal Melton

Opal Jean (Clark) Melton, of Augusta, was born in Grant, Ala. on Dec. 29, 1932. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to many. After a full and happy life she passed away at her home on May 26, 2010.
She is survived by: her husband of 55 years, LC Melton, Augusta; son, David (Marjorie), Augusta; two granddaughters, Charissa (Mike) Williams, Hughes Spring, Texas and Chara (Brian) Skahan, Bel Aire; three great-grandsons, Michah and Caleb Williams and Bryce Skahan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry R. and Lenora Belle (Clay) Clark; four brothers, John, Pete, Edward and Leonard; sister, Lorene (Clark) Hem-brough; and son Mark.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 31, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1,2010 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.

William ‘Bill’ Love

William “Bill” Charles Love, 83, of Longton, certified pipe fitter and welder, United States Navy veteran of WWII, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010.
Funeral services were held earlier this week at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline.
His survivors are: daughters, Linda (Fritz) Dieter of Augusta and Jodi Love of Mannford, Okla.; sons, James Love, Joseph (Mary) Love, both of Longton, Tony Love of Howard, and William Love Jr. of Peru;
sisters, Teresa Tajchman of Ramona and Joan Barton of Wichita; 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Food For the Poor in care of Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard.

Gerald Timmons

Gerald Timmons, 91, of Augusta, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010.
Service arrangements are pending with Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.
