Jack E. Swinson
Jack E. Swinson, 78, of Augusta, passed away, Monday, May 31, 2010.
Service 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Masonic graveside rites will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Jack was born in Abilene, Texas on Dec. 15, 1931, the son of the late Everett Glisson and Annie Lucille (Lynn) Swinson. He worked as a garage foreman for Williams Natural Gas formerly City Service Gas Company. Jack was also a member of York Rite Lodge # 57 in Wichita and Patmos Masonic Lodge #97 in El Dorado. On July 4,1950 he married Jessie (Moore) in Abilene, Texas and she survives.
He is also survived by: his children and spouses Janet Haines and husband David of Wichita, Kay Perdue of Salem, Ore., Jack Swinson, Jr. and wife Kathy of San Diego, Calif., and David Swinson and wife Kim of Augusta; brother, W.R. "Bill" Swinson of Pa: seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters Eleanor Swinson and Connie Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The United Methodist Open Door Ministry.

Gerald A. Fenske
Gerald A. Fenske, 63, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010.
A celebration of Gerald's life will be 2 p.m. June 18, 2010 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Derby.
Gerald retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He retired in 2009 after 23 years of service as a civilian employee at McConnell AFB. Mr. Fenske was actively involved in The Miss Augusta/Miss Butler County Organization.
Survivors include: life partner, Larry Strong; brothers, Ed (Susie) Fenske, DuWayne Fenske of Wausaw, Wis.; sister, Sharon Stedman of Eau Claire, Wis.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Renate.
Donations in Gerald's name may be made to The Kansas Humane Society, 4218 Southeast Blvd., Wichita, KS 67210. Arrangements by Baker Funeral Home-Wichita

E.R. “Stan” Standley, 93, plumber and pipe fitter, passed away, Tuesday, June 1,2010.
A visitation will be held, Friday, June 4, from 5-7 p.m. at the Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 5, at 1 p.m. both at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Stan was born to Isaac and Alibelle (Acton) Standley in Monmouth, Kansas. He married Lila Mae Gamble on May 19, 1937, in Arma, Kansas. Stan served in the US Navy during World War II. Lila and Stan divorced. Stan married Edna "Maxine" Blake on Nov. 25,1960 in Oklahoma.
Stan worked as a meat cutter for Mobley Grocery; owned Standley Plumbing; worked for Pittsburg Plumbing, Montgomery Ward, Honeywell and Johnson Controls.
Survivors include his sons Tom (Helen) Standley of Charlotte, North Carolina, Bill (Virginia) Standley of Parsons, Kansas, Jim (Terry) Standley of Augusta, Darrell (Robin) Standley of Crawfordville, Florida; daughters Shirley (Pat) Patterson and Linda Pryer (Myrena Hawn) all of Pittsburg, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; spouses; daughter Connie McCoy; brother Floyd; sisters Inez, Jewel, Elsie and Pearl.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
