Charlene E. Habluetzel

Charlene E. Habluetzel, 73, Clay Center,
Kan., died on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010.
Funeral service was held yesterday at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church east of Clay Center. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center.
Charlene was born on Jan. 4,1937, at Green, Kan., the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Reed) Schafer. She was a homemaker and had worked at Bauer’s Laundry in Clay Center and in admissions during enrollment at Kansas State University. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, a 28-year member of the Piotique Prom-enaders and was a 4-H club leader for the Hays Boosters for several years. She was married on May 8,1957 to Harold Habluetzel. He survives of the home.
She is also survived by: daughters, Denise (Rene) Charbonneau of Clay Center, Cindi (Mike) Strack of Augusta,
DeAnn Habluetzel of Wichita, and Dee Dee (Brian) Marker of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jacob (Shaye) Charbonneau, Zachary Strack and his fiancee Rochelle Sharon, Joshua Strack and Caleb Strack, Alysa Marker and Austin Marker; great-granddaughter, Jaycee Charbonneau.
A memorial has been established for the Meadowlark Hospice in Clay Center.

Edith I. Pilcher

Edith I. “Edy” (Shamburg) Pilcher, 77, Tucson, formerly of Augusta, passed away on July 26, 2010.
A memorial in celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28,2010, at the Christian Church in Glasco, Kan. Graveside service will follow at the Glasco Cemetery. Following the services there will be a gathering of friends at the Glasco Senior Center.
She is survived by: her husband of 59 years, Lewis Pilcher; children, Rhonda (Philip) Davis, Roxie Simmons of Tuscon, and Robert (Cherie) Pilcher of Latham; brothers, Duane, Dan, Les and Lenus; sisters, Roberta, Lila, Neva, and Telva; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and youngest brother, Ronald.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Odyssey Hospice Care, 750 E. Foothills Dr., Tucson, AZ 85718.

F. Merle Cantu, 85, of Augusta, passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday; funeral service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, both at Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
