Maurice R. Howard
Maurice R. Howard,96, Augusta, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010.
Visitation 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta; service 11a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at the Augusta First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
Maurice was born in Mulvane, Kan. on Aug. 4, 1914, the son of the late Erwin and Lulu Bartholomew) Howard. He was a farmer and also worked as a Road Mai n-tainer for the Butler County Highway Department. He married Velma Harris on June 4,1938 in Wichita and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by: son, Clayton Howard of Show Low, Ariz.; daughters, Barbara Mann of Mulvane, Shirley Segerham-mar (Jimmy King) of Augusta; son-in-law Darrell Winters of Wichita; 6 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 13
great grandsons; 4 great-granddaughters; 2 great-great grandsons;
4 great-great-granddaughters; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Wanda Winters; brothers, Lee and Merlin; sister, Lela Loper Grieve.

Darrell L. Pruner
Darrell L. Pruner, 79, Augusta, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010.
Visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday and service 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Darrell was born in Sylvia, Kan. on Sept. 28, 1930, the son of the late George and Reba (Etchison) Pruner. He worked as a supervisor at Kansas Department of Transportation. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Aug. 11,1956 he married Lorene Partin in Stafford and she survives.
He is also survived by: daughters, Peggy Ohmart and Pamela Borden of Augusta; brother, Delano Pruner of Waxahachie, Texas; grandchildren, Deanna Drake, Luke Drake, Kris Pruner, Kacie Clasen; great-grandchildren, Malaya, Dawson, Xander, Owen, Meirra and Kenna.
He was preceded in death by brother Junior Pruner; sister, Beverly Lair.
Family suggests donations to Augusta American Legion or the Augusta Senior Center.
