Vyrdie Gehrett Died Saturday
Vyrdie E. Gehrett, 95, Douglass, died Saturday at the Douglass Nursing Home.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Thomas Bailey officiated and burial will be Wednesday in Santa Anna, Texas.
A memorial has been established with the Grace United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund in Winfield.
She was born Aug. 2, 1888 in Rock to William and Catherine Jackson Bailey.
She married Sherman Gehrett March 4, 1908 in Oronoque, Kan. He preceded her in death.
She was a retired sales woman.
She was a 50-year member of the Queen City Order of the
Eastern Star in Winfield.
Survivors include a brother, Raymond Bailey of Great Bend; sisters, Letha Heckard of Canton, Lois Mauk and Verla Bailey, both of Douglass.

Myrtle Milleson Died In Wichita
Myrtle Milleson, 85, Douglass, died Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. Janet Siever will officiate and burial will in the Richland Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Douglass United Methodist Church or the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
She was born May 25, 1908 in Douglass.
She was a retired farmer and Beech Aircraft Co., employee.
Survivors include a son, Rev. Jerry Milleson of Cawker City and three grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass in charge of arrangements.

Mother Died Friday At AMCI
Celia Truitt, 100, mother of Dena Swafford of Augusta, died Friday at the intermediate care facility at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. today at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson. Rev. John Zoschke officiated.
She was born Aug. 8, 1883 in Ellsworth to Harvey and Mattie Holmes Rickenbrode.
She married James E. Truitt June 24, 1914 in Medora. He preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1972.
From 1932 to 1957 she operated Truitt’s Mercantile Co., the only dry goods store in Medora. She inherited the business from her father who opened the store in 1900.
Survivors also include another daughter, Neta Friesen of Blue Eye, Mo.; a brother, Howard Rickenbrode of Indianopolis, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Donald E. Stout Died Sunday
Donald E. Stout, 45, Newton, brother of Jerry Stout of Augusta died Sunday at the Halstead, Kan. hospital.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Draper-Cannon Chapel in Newton. Rev. Robert Larson will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Newton.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association in care of the Draper-Cannon Funeral Home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1938 in Newton to Juell and Viola Schill Stout.
He married Barbara Hughes Feb. 11, 1961 in Newton. She survives.
He was a laborer for the Santa Fe Railway.
Other survivors include a son, Mark of Newton; daughters, Donna Felkins of Walton, Robin Allen and Stephanie Stout, both of Newton; his mother, Viola Stout of Newton, and five grandchildren.

Thomas F. Doyle Died In Wichita
Thomas F. Doyle, 79, Wichita, a retired accountant for Santa Fe Railroad who is survived by two sisters here, died Monday, April 9, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
His funeral will be 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, April 11, with Dr. John Click of the Immanuel Baptist Church officiating and burial in Elmwood Cemetery here.
A graveside service will be conducted at the cemetery here by the Albert Pike Lodge 303, AF & AM.
Memorials to the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1415 S. Topeka, Wichita, and the Shriners' Hospital, 130 N. Topeka, also of Wichita, have been suggested.
Thomas leaves his wife, Dorothy, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Carole) Williams of Aurora, Neb.; two brothers, Dan Doyle of Benedict and Bert Doyle of Claflin; four sisters, Grace Davis of Wichita, Madge Edwards and Catherine Scott, both of Augusta, and Rose Larrick of Mesa, Ariz., and two grandchildren.

Helen Enderud dies at 74
Helen A. Enderud, 74, Wellington, aunt of John Langley of Douglass, died Wednesday.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
Her funeral was at the Frank Funeral Home in Wellington at 2 p.m. today.
