Mother dies in Halstead
Nellie A. Shelton, 74, Hutchinson, mother of Glenda Thompson of Augusta, died yesterday at the Halstead Hospital in Halstead.
Graveside services will be at
1 p.m. Friday at the Eastside Cemetery there. Pastor Williard Stafford will officiate.
She was born Dec. 12, 1909 in Reno County to Bert and Lottie Wilmer Baker.
She married Glen Shelton April 7, 1945 in Mount Rose, Calif., He survives.
She was a member of the University Baptist Church in Wichita and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Other survivors include a son, Avery of Hutchinson; a sister, Thelma Stacy of Roscoe, Calif., and three grandchildren.

Horace Tolbert dies in Wichita
Horace E. Tolbert, 80, Wichita, brother of Rebecca Baker of Augusta, died Wednesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Graves Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Rev. Galen Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Tolbert was born April 14, 1909 in Everton, Mo., to Thomas and Jennie Jones Tolbert.
He married Edna Twilley May 8, 1943 in Nowata, Okla. She survives
He was a retired barber. He was a Mason.
Other survivors include daughters, Phyllis Billups, Theodora Slayton, both of Wichita, Pat DePhilippis of
Chula Vista, Calif.; another sister, Jessie Childers of Coffeyville; 11 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren.

Truck accident claims life of father
James F. Tuxhorn, 43, Weir, father of Donald Elsen of Augusta, died at yesterday morning after a semi-trailer truck accident in Jasper County, Mo.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Naylor Funeral Home in Weir. Rev. James Arnold will officiate and burial will be in the Holsey Hill Cemetery there.
A memorial has been established with the Lakecrest
Bible Baptist Church in Augusta for Rev. Leslie Funk, a veteran missionary in the Philippines.
Tuxhorn was born June 23, 1940 in Kansas City, Mo.
He married Matilda Churchill in Pratt April 6, 1968. She survives.
He was a track driver for Hofer Inc. of Pittsburg and had lived in Weir since 1981 where he was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors also include two other sons, Paul and James Tuxhorn of the home; three daughters, Mary Springmeyer of El Campo, Texas, Frances Marquart of Eloy Ariz, and Rose of the the home; his mother, Kathryn Lindsey and his stepfather, Loren, both of Sedan; a sister, Kathleen Mc-Corkle of Sedan, and seven grandchildren.

Lee Caster Sr. rites Saturday
Lee I. Caster Sr., 75, Geuda Springs, brother of Victor Caster of Douglass, and stepfather of Sharon Eberspach of Augusta, died Wednesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rindt-Erdman-Olyroyd Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Rev. Tom
Sheldon will officiate and burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery there.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He was born Sept. 7, 1908 in Wichita to George E. and Ida Mae Woods Caster.
He married Lena Faye Heflin. She died June 13, 1968. He married Pearl May Hall Dec. 9, 1970. She survives.
Caster was a farmer and member of the Oxford , (Kan.) United Methodsit Church.
Other survivors include a son, Lee I. Jr. of Kechi; daughter,
Leveta Oelschleger of Wapakoneta, Ohio; another brother, John of Wichita; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
