Grethel L. Elliott

Grethel LaVerne Elliott, 95, of Augusta and formerly of the Hamilton, Virgil and Quincy area, died on Monday, Jan. 10,2011. *
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Janesville Cemetery.
Her survivors include: son, Don Elliott of Augusta; daughter, Yvonne “Sis” Nordmeyer of Toronto; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Bertha (Short) Nicholas, her husband Byron “Barney” Elliott, three sons, three sisters, and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Hamilton United Methodist Church, and may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045.

Walter R. Prigel

Walter R. Prigel, 84, of Las Vegas, Nev. and formerly of Augusta, died on Jan. 5, 2011.
Services were held in Las Vegas.
Walter graduated with the Augusta High School Class of 1944. After graduation he served in the U.S. Navy and returned to Augusta to work at Midwest Works. Later he worked for Dyn Corp, as an aviation mechanic and worked all over the country until retirement.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles R. and Bessie E. (Day) Prigel; one brother, Ernest Prigel; one sister, Regina Reed.
He is survived by: sister, Maxine (Bill) Smith of Augusta; two neices, three nephews.

Luella Wisener

Luella Wisener, 83, resident of The Fairways in Augusta, died this morning.
Service arrangements are pending with Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, Augusta.
