Gladys Belisle died Saturday at hospital here
Gladys Marie Belisle, 76, Route 2, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church. Rev. Jon Grissom will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born April 3, 1908 in Meade County to Edwin and Laura Owen Pavey.
She married Lester Dennett March 9, 1927. He preceded her in death.
She married Ed Belisle July 5, 1981 in Augusta. He survives.
Mrs. Belisle was a member of the First Christian Church.
Other survivors include a stepson, Dale Belisle of Wichita; daughters, Phyllis Berthold of Spivey, Norma Moss of Augusta, Janice Johnson of Fort Scott; a stepdaughter, Ruth Roush of Wichita; sisters, Ethel Ruth of Wichita, Mabel Aldridge of Rock Island, Ill., Lucille Patterson of Yates Center; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Father died Thursday at 76
Harry Hans, 76, Iola, father of Sue Allen of Douglass, died Thursday.
His service were at 11:30 a.m. today at the Friskel Memorial Chapel there. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at the Great Bend, Kan., cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Church of Christ in Iola.
Other survivors include a sister, Helen Hans of Great Bend.

Brother dies at 84
Forrest F. Quillen, 84, Wichita, brother of Blanche Bally of Augusta, died Saturday at a hospital in Winfield.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Wichita Park Cemetery. Rev. Michael O’Donnell will officiate.
He was born March 25, 1900 in Andover to Frank and Mary Rogers Quillen.
He married Mae Taggert. She preceded him in death.
He was a retired Boeing Military Aircraft Co. employee. He worked in shipping and receiving.
Other survivors include a son, Forrest II of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Murrell Wager of Wichita; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Broadway Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Mable Phillips dies in Wichita
Mable Scothorn Phillips, 80, Augusta, died Monday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Cochran Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Robert Bernhard will officiate and burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
She was born Oct. 30, 1903 in Dunville, Ky., to James Z. and Kittie Lou Pendleton Kennett.
She married Jess Phillips who preceded her in death in 1978.
She was a self-employed drapery maker.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Stroup of Wichita; two sisters, Ann Seaney of Wichita and Treva Roark of Augusta and a grandson.

Chester Smith dies in Oklahoma
Chester Sidney Smith, 74, Hominy, former area resident and a brother-in-law of Lucile Bachtel and Charley Bird of Augusta, died May 3.
His funeral was May 7 at the Methodist Church in Hominy. Rev. Gerald Holden officiated. Burial was in the Albert J. Powell Memorial Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 14, 1910 in Latham to Elmer and Elizabeth Harris Smith.
He married Audrey Bird in Newkirk, Okla., Aug. 5, 1935. She survives.
Both taught school in the Bloomington area.
He worked as a roustabout for Texaco Inc. He retired as a field foreman after 35 years with Texaco.
Other survivors include a son, Chester Sidney Jr. of Richardson, Texas; a daughter, Chestine Ann Washing of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Don Smith of Black Canyon, Ariz.; four sisters, Edith McMinn of Burden, Althea Mann of Fontana, Calif., Margaret Scott of Winfield and Helen Long of Alva, Okla., and four grandchildren.
