Letha Knapp
Letha Virgie Knapp, 91, of Augusta, passed on to be with the Lord on Friday,
March 25, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at the Piedmont Cemetery, Piedmont, Kan.
Letha was born Dec. 23,1919, at Waynoka, Okla, to Amos and Virgie Lyons. She spent her childhood in the Freedom, Okla. area. ,On June 21,1940, she married Noble Knapp. They raised a son and a daughter and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before Noble passed away in December 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by: her son, Forrest Duane (Jimna) Knapp of Augusta, and her daughter, Karen K. Warstler, of Peoria, Ariz.; grandsons, Bill Warstler, Gilbert, Ariz., Adam Knapp, Andover, and Jeff Knapp, Augusta; granddaughters, Rebecca (Buddy) Dudko, Phoenix, Ariz., and Andrea JGorey) Lan-dreth, El Dorado; nine great-grand-children; a sister, Evelyn Nicewarner of Siloam Springs Ariz.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Letha and Noble owned and operated a Skelly service station in LaJunta, Colo. (1945-1951), then purchased the Electrified Water Co. in Wichita, which they operated until their retirement in 1972. They retired to Eureka, where they enjoyed gardening, going to Bluegrass Festivals, and traveling to visit friends and family. In 2000 Noble had a stroke and they moved to Augusta to be with their son and family. Letha was a loving caregiver until his death five years later. In 2005 she began spending winters in the Phoenix area with her daughter. She said she had the best of both worlds, enjoying the sunshine in the winter and the summer in Kansas.
Letha was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church of Eureka and attended regularly the last 10 years at the First Baptist Church of Augusta after moving to that area.
Memorials have been established at Real Life Christian Church in El Dorado, Heartspring International, and the American Diabetes Association.

Rebecca "Becky" F. Allen, 55, of Atlanta, Kan., lost a long, courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at Central Baptist Church, rural Augusta. Burial will follow at the Benton Cemetery.
Becky was born in Wichita, on June 16,1955, to Walter and Nadine (Wade) Davis of Fall River; they survive. She graduated from Circle High School in 1973 and married her high school sweetheart, Rusty, later that same year at Central Baptist Church; he survives.
She is also survived by: daughters, Cara (Craig) Dennison and Darci (Cody) Smith, all of Benton; grandchildren, Delaynie, Kylie and Ty Dennison and Harper and baby boy Smith. She is also survived by brother, Roger Davis of Augusta; sisters, Ellen Whitson of Towanda and Paula (Eldon) Foreman of Augusta; 10 nieces and nephews.
Becky was a paralegal at Foulston Siefkin law firm. She was a Girl Scout volunteer, loved traveling, antiquing, sewing, gardening and shopping with her girlfriends. Her time was devoted to being an exceptional Grammie to her grandbabes.

KS.
