Wayne T. Savage funeral Tuesday
Wayne Thomas Savage, 73, 33 Bluff, died Saturday, June 9, at home.
His funeral will at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Harold Trevolt of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 23, 1910 in Sherwood, Iowa, to Oren and Lulu Paulson.
He married Barbara Ann Britt in 1981. She survives.
Savage was retired after working for Boeing Military Airplane Co. and as a section foreman for the Illinois Central Railroad.
His survivors include a son, Raymond Savage of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Marilyn Smith of Seattle, Wash., Helen Bunton of Canoga Park, Calif., Norma Pyeatt of Mulvane; stepsons, Joe Dunsford of Tulsa, Okla., Jack and John Dunsford of Augusta; a stepdaughter, Debbie Wattenbarger of Wichita; brothers, Edwin Savage of Santa Monica, Calif., Glenn Savage of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a sister, Luella Miners of Fort Dodge, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

‘Belle’ Race died June 7
Eleanor Isabel “Belle” Race, 88, of rural Augusta, died June 7 at Augusta Medical Complex.
The Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita was in charge of the private funeral arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly DuGay of Wichita; a son, Ardell Race of Wichita; a sister, Frances Kennedy of Sedgwick, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. David Rhodes
Mrs. David M. Rhodes of Chicago, Ill., and Ocean Ridge, Fla., the sister of Mrs. Walter Gillespey of Augusta, died May 28 at the Del Rey Community Hospital in Florida.
Mrs. Rhodes was the daughter of Horace M. and Margaret C. Reynolds Wolverton. She was born in Duncan, Okla. Her husband preceded her in death in 1949.
She was a patron of the Chicago Lyric Opera Co., a member of Chicago Women’s Club, Chicago Art Institute, the Arts Club of Chicago, Arden Shore Club. She was also a member of the Isabella Weldin Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, of Augusta.
Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, Fla.
Other survivors are her sisters, Nell Kaleta of Muskogee, Okla, and Oleta Kuchlin of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Royal A. Wolverton of Sunlakes, Ariz., several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. David M. Rhodes Chicago, Ill., who died May 28, was buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Skokie, Ill., and not in Florida as reported Monday’s Gazette.

Friday, June 15, 1984
Thelma L. Regan died in Alabama
Thelma L. Regan, 66, of Mobile, Ala., formerly of Wichita and the. sister of N.J. Jones of Augusta, died Tuesday.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary. Rev. Bruce Smith of the Town and Country Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Mrs. Regan was born June 22, 1917, and was retired from her job as a clerk-typist for the U.S. Navy Civil Service.
After coming to Wichita in the 1950’s, she lived there for 20 years before moving to Mobile where she spent her final 10 years.
Other survivors include a son, Lance Regan of Mobile; brothers, Dwayne Jones of Widefield, Colo., William Hughes of Seattle; sisters, Vada Lee of Duncan, Okla., and Juanita Wilson of Wichita.

Sister C. Betzen dies in Wichita
Sister Caritas Betzen, 77, Wichita, sister of Alphonse Betzen and Kate Berndsen, both of Augusta, died Sunday at her home.
There will be a wake at 7 o’clock tonight at the Sisters Adores of the Blood of Christ Convent Chapel, 1165 Southwest Blvd, Wichita. Her service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
She was born March 20, 1907 in St. Mark.
She was a retired nurse.
Other survivors include brothers, Father Justin Betzen of Piqua, Clem and Joe Betzen, both of Wichita and sisters, Therese Rau of Derby, Salome Bilderbach, Walburga Betzen, both of Wichita, and Lucille Arndt of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
