Ruth I. Redington 94, Augusta

Ruth I. Redington, 94, homemaker, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Andover Court Assisted Living.
Rosary 7 p.m. this evening, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Funeral mass will be 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Augusta.
Ruth was born in Haverhill, Kan. on March 7,1917, the daughter of the late Charles Russell and Effie Amy (Simpson) Lipscomb. She graduated from Augusta High School and then worked as a legal secretary before marriage. On April 25,1945 she married Owen J. Redington at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by brother, John Lipscomb and sisters, Faith Heidelbaugh, Violet Carter and Doris Marshall.
She is survived by: son, Jim Redington of Towanda; daughters, Teresa Moore, Alicia Redington, both of Wichita, and Joan Redington Burns and husband Patrick of Dallas; sister, Gen Werly of Topeka; 12
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Leonard E. Nachbor 68, Augusta

Leonard Eugene Nachbor, 68, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at his home in Wichita.
Graveside service only at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Leonard was bom on Dec. 20,1942, to Henry and Elizabeth Catherine (Rausch) Nachbor in Winfield. He attended elementary school at St. James Catholic School and also attended Augusta High School.
Leonard retired as a maintenance worker from Arrowhead West, Inc.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey (Ann) Nachbor of Leawood, Kan., and Justin (Doreen) Nachbor of Douglass; daughters, Lorrie Kessler of Independence and Kristina (Michael, Jr.) Chetwood of Wichita; brothers, Richard and Harley Nachbor of Augusta; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Delsea Nachbor.
