Elston Hargus 88, GREENWICH
Elston Hargus, 88, of Greenwich, retired Beechcraft electrician, passed away Aug. 7, 2011.
Memorial service was held this morning at Baker Funeral Home in Wichita.
Elston was born on Jan. 31,1923, in Seymour, Mo.
Survivors include: sons, Gary of Wichita, Randy of Augusta, and Jeff of Greenwich; 5 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren.
Preceded in death by wife: Louise and granddaughter, Ashley.
Wiliam G. Ray 87, WICHITA
William G. Ray, 87, of Wichita, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011.
Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. this evening at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West in Wichita. Funeral mass will be at
10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita.
He was a 1942 graduate of Augusta High School, he served in the Military Police during World War II in Gen. George Patton’s Third Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents,
Carl and Vona Dell Ray; brother, James Carl; sisters, Margaret, Helen and LaVona; wife, Adelia (Evans), and daughter, Mary Anne Sauber.
He is survived by: his children, Terrie Eckberg (Thomas) and Brian Ray of Wichita, and Douglas Ray of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the St. Katherine Drexel Catholic School Fund, c/o Office of Development and Planned Giving, Catholic Diocese of Wichita, 424 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202.
Lora Mae Dunlap 88, Towanda
Lora Mae Dunlap, 88, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011.
Visitation with the family Lora Mae Dunlap will be from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday Aug.15; memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. I6t, both at the Kirby Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado. Interment will follow, at the Walnut Valley Cemetery, just west of El Dorado.
Lora Mae lived all but two years of her life ip the Towanda area. She was born Feb. 16,1923 to George and Myrtle Reed.
She raised her two sons, Richard and Raymond, in Towanda surrounded with family. For 39 years she was employed by Beech Aircraft as a secretary. She enjoyed many activities during her retirement with her present husband, Carol Dunlap. They traveled, participated in Towanda Senior Citizens, attended Towanda United Methodist Church, and spent time with family.
Lora Mae is survived by: husband, Carol Dunlap; sons Richard Taylor, and Raymond Taylor, 4 stepchildren, 14 grandchildren, and 7 greatgrandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband, Cecil Thompson, stepson, Rex Thompson, five brothers, and a sister.
