Emma Lou Thompson, 83, of Rose Hill, passed away Monday, Oct.31,2011.
Memorial service 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Emma Lou was born in Smithland, Iowa on Oct. 19,1928, the daughter of the late Addison Smith and Hattie Mav (Zortman) Boldra.
She was a homemaker. On April 18,1952, she married Raymond Franklin Thompson and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by: son, Richard Thompson and wife Phyllis of Augusta; daughter, Lawanda Michael and husband Earl of Augusta; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Loretta Tillery; sisters, Pearl Sherman, Eula McGee, Leah Boldra, Mamie Rickabaucher, Maijorie Boldra; brothers, Dwight ,Paul, Theodore, Wayne, Robert, Benjamin Seth Boldra.
Memorials to the Good Shepherd Hospice 439 N McLean Blvd., Ste, 100 Wichita, KS 67203.

Juanita Catherine (Dewing) Burris, 96, passed away, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at Sandpiper Bay Healthcare Center in Wichita.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to noon, with family receiving friends from noon until 2 p.m., with funeral service following at 2 p.m. all on Monday, Nov. 7, at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Interment in Augusta’s Elmwood Cemetery using the Ohio Street entrance.
Juanita was born Dec. 18,1914, to Archibald and Gertrude (Starkey) Dewing in Wichita. She graduated from Augusta High School and married Earl Harold Burris in Augusta. Juanita worked at the Ranger and the 5th Avenue Restaurants as a cook, dishwasher, waitress or wherever needed.
She is survived by: son, Harold Burris (Sharon) of Wichita; daughters, Gertrude Crum (Howard) of Wichita and Marcia Davis
(Bill) of Augusta; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; sons, Gary and Robert Burris; daughter, Beverly Shelton; brothers, Wayne and Gene Dewing; sisters, Maxine Murphy and Doris Breeden.

R. Lorraine Holmes, 81 of El Dorado, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Lakepoint Nursing Center, El Dorado.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday evening from 6 to 7p.m., followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. The Rosary will also be recited on Tuesday at 10 a.m. before the Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church.
She was born on July 3,1930 in Bazine, Kan., the daughter of Warren and Esther McFadden O’Brien. She graduated from Great Bend High School, and on June 9, 1952 she married Keith Holmes in Great Bend. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2011. She worked in the County Clerk’s Office and the Treasurer’s Office in Barton, County. She moved to El Dorado in 1982. Lorraine was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church; Daughters of Isabella; TOPS; and the Altar Society.
Those who survive: children and their spouses Jan and Allan Mil-bradt, Augusta, Jon and Annie Holmes, Welling-
ton;, and Christy and Roland Davis, El Dorado; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Vera O’Brien, Topeka.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter Lorna; two brothers and two sisters.
