Pauline Ward

D. Pauline Ward, 88, Augusta, passed away, Monday, Dec. 5th, 2011.
Rosary 6 p.m. Thursday, at Headley Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Pauline was born in Walnut, Kan. on Oct. 20, 1923, the daughter of the late Ralph Cornelius and Lyda Ann (Yostmeyer) Leritz. She was a homemaker. On Dec. 8,1942 she married Elmo Marcy in Vancouver, Ore. He died Jan. 3,1970. She married Ross Ward on Aug. 7,1976. He died Aug.4,1991. She was also preceded in death by brothers, William "Bill" Leritz and R.C. Leritz, Jr.
She is survived by: daughters, Carol Pennington Meyer and husband Chuck of Augusta, Paula Rigg Kintzel and husband Floyd of Garfield, Arkansas, Linda Parker of Augusta, and Diana Doolittle of El Dorado; brothers, Lawrence Leritz of Romeo, Mich, and Bob Leritz of Stockton, Mo.; sisters, Elsie Williams of Pittsburg, Frances Lathom of Belton, MO. and

Lyle Boucher Reed
84, GRAHAM, TEXAS

Lyle Boucher Reed, 84, of Graham, Texas enteredhe church triumphant on Nov. 21, 2011, in Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9; memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, both at Hillside Funeral Home, 935 N. Hillside in Wichita. Following the service, burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Lyle was born on a farm near Augusta, on Nov. 12,1927, to Jay and Fern (Boucher) Reed.
He graduated from Augusta High School in 1945, was drafted into the United States Army and served three years with the National Security Agency. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1953 with a degree in accounting. In 1950 he joined the Air Force R.O.T.C. and received his commission in 1952. He resigned in 1965 at the rank of Captain. Lyle also worked as a field agent for the I.R.S., an accountant for Continental Oil, and for 30 years with Burroughs Corporation until his retirement in 1986.
Lyle attended the Methodist Church all of
three sons, Charles Reed and wife Connie of Spring, Texas, Dennis Reed and wife Cindy of Topeka, and Richard Reed and wife Jeri of Graham, Texas; one daughter, Rhonda Brewer and husband Ron of Cypress, Texas; seven grandchildren, Alison Galt and husband Aaron, Leslie Reed, Jay Reed, Jennifer Smith and husband Troy, Craig Reed and wife Jessica, Stephen Reed, Mary Ruth Hooper and husband Bryan; greatgrandchildren, Mike Reed, Emerson Hooper, Bryson and Kadence Reed; one brother, Jerald Reed and wife Winnie of Decatur, Ala.; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Regina, he was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Maxine Frost.
Memorials may be made to Botanica - The Wichita Gardens, or First United Methodist Church, Graham, Texas.


Loyce Cody
69, AUGUSTA

Loyce Ann (Basolo) Cody, 69, longtime resident of Augusta, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at her home in Augusta.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Okla., and Carla Cody of Winfield; sisters, Nancy Scherman (Allen) of McAlester, Okla., and Joella Ford (Jim) of Verdigris, Okla.; brother, Tony Basolo, III (Judy) of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Tyson and Amanda Hoyt, Anna Crane, Courtney Daly, Korigan, Jana Loyce and Kenlee Hoyt, Jacob Hoyt and Jerico Gaines.
A memorial has been established with Creative Community Living, 1500 East 8th, Winfield, KS 67156 or in care of the funeral home.

Joyce R. O’Neal
83, AUGUSTA, KANSAS

Joyce R. (Ozbun) O’Neal, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Lake-point of Augusta.
Joyce was born April 15,1928, to Charles and Gladys (Smith) Ozbun in Great Bend, Kansas and was one of their 10 children. She married John O'Neal on May 30,1961, in Augusta.
Joyce was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, loved flowers and collecting clowns. Joyce retired from Boeing working in publications.
