Cheri Winters dies in Wichita
Cheri Nichole Winters, 15-day-old great-granddaughter of Edna Nesler of Augusta, died Tuesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cumberland Cemetery.
She was born June 18 in Wichita to Earl Wilson and Shannon Carol Clem Winters of Wichita.
Other survivors include grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Winters Sr., of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandmother, Kathleen Clem of Wichita, and a great-grandmother, Ida Mae Winters of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.
Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Nellie Skeels died Wednesday
Nellie Pearl Skeels, 85, Augusta, died Wednesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Miller will officiate and burial wil be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 19, 1898 in Cairo, W.Va., to James and Margaret Windon Riggs.
She married Roy Skeels March 3, 1921 in El Dorado. He preceded her in death in 1960.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a brother, James Riggs of Augusta; sisters, Goldie McKenzie and Evelyn Patten, both of Augusta, and Anita Riggs, Belleville, and
grandchildren, Vicki Von Feldt of Great Bend and Steven Skeels of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Evelyn Myers dies at 81
Evelyn Myers, 81, Leon, mother of Jack Myers of Augusta, died Tuesday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Douglass Christian Church. Jim Lorenson will officiate and burial will be in the Douglass Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 2, 1903 in McPherson to Carl Alvin and Emma Johnson Carlman.
She married Myrl “Deloss” Myers Oct. 14, 1926 in Wichita. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Gene Myers of El Dorado; daughter, Mariam Hilbert of Wichita; a brother, Bud Carlman of El Dorado, Texas; sisters, Edna Garden of Nickerson, Elva Allen of Douglass, Alberta Stewart of Wichita; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Hilyard Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.
