Thelma M. Moon
dies in Wichita
Thelma Marie Moon, 49, Maize, sister of Dr. Orville Brown of Augusta, died Tuesday at the Riverside Hospital in Wichita.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Wichita. Rev. Gene Williams will officiate and burial will be in Maize Park Cemetery in Maize.
She was born April 1, 1935 in Wichita to Orville and Ruth Fink Brown.
She married Ernest Moon June 18, 1955 in Wichita. He survives.
Mrs. Moon was a former receptionist for a Wichita podiatrist and a member of the Kansas Podiatry Association.
Other survivors include a son, Stephens L. of Maize; daughters, Jana Lynn Moon and Vicky Ann Moon of the home; mother, Ruth Brown Hecht; sister, Janet Yoder, both of Wichita, and three grandchildren.
Ex-Augustan dies 74
Geraldine Byers, 74, formerly of Augusta, died Monday at the University of Missouri Hospital
in Columbia, Mo.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Bill Buggeln of the First Church of Christ will officiate.
She was born March 13, 1910 in Oklahoma to James Martin and Annie Elizabeth Cockrell DePauw.
She married Jake Byers Aug. 14, 1937 in Houston, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1955.
Survivors include a son, James Henry Byers of Orange Park, Fla.; a daughter, Jerry Elizabeth Lopez of Clovis, Calif.; brothers, J.L. DePauw of Mayer, Ariz., Eugene DePauw of Bernice, La., and Joe DePauw of Newark, N.J.;
sisters, Nina Maynard of Laurie, Mo., Ethel Arnett of Fresno, Calif., and Annabelle Rawlinson of Houston, and seven grandchildren.

Former Augustan dies in Arizona
Pauline Howard of Glendale, Ariz., died there Tuesday evening.
Services are set for Saturday in Arizona. Burial will also be in Arizona.
Survivors include two sons, Jack and Dillard Sutton, both of Phoenix.
Green Acres Mortuary in Glendale is handling funeral arrangements.

Wilbert J. Foos dies at AMCI
Wilbert John Foos, 67, 2017 Robbins, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Dean McCormick will officiate and burial wil be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Assembly of God Building Fund, 1130 S. Main, Wichita, Kan., 67213.
Other survivors include a daughter, Constance Jule Fitz of Augusta; sisters, Luella Smith of Harrison, Ark., Laura Mickel of Garden City, and Pauline Ferguson of Bazine, and two grandchildren.
Carrie E. Harp dies at 99
Carrie Ethel Harp, 99, Winfield, mother of Ethelyn Falwell of Augusta, died there Sunday at the Winfield Good Samaritan Center.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Highland Cemetery there. Rev. George Kemp will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.

Virgel Dagel dies in Whichita
Virgel Elmer Dagel, 84, Route 1, died today at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Galen Hinshaw will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 11, 1899 in Rose Hill to William and Melissa Dennett Dagel.
He married Alberta Dell Patterson May 1, 1923 in Wichita. She preceded him in death.
He was a retired Cities Service oil field pumper.
He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the military during World War II.
He was a member of the Doughtery Fraternity.
Survivors include a son, Verl E. Dagel of Augusta; sisters, Viola Chance of Fowler and Dolly Hinshaw of Rose Hill; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
