Mitchell ‘Mitch’ Camp
62, AUGUSTA
Mitchell "Mitch" Camp, 62, of Augusta, passed away Monday, June 25,
2012 in Wichita, at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.Thursday, June 28th, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta, and service at lp.m. Friday, June 29th, 2012, at the Life Church in Augusta. Graveside will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, at the Belknap Cemetery in Belknap, Kan.
Mitch was born in Winfield, on June 4th, 1950, to Ilene (Watson) Camp and the late Leo Delbert Camp.
Mitch worked as a auto mechanic for over 32 years. Mitch was currently working at Wichita State University and he had owned State Street Auto in Augusta.
On May 15, 2010, at Life Church, he married Karen (Chambers) Camp, who survives him.
Mitch is also survived by: son, Ben Camp and wife, Tera; daughter, Jennifer Tolley and husband Scott; mother, Ilene Camp, all of Augusta; brother, Steven Camp and wife, Debbie of Wichita; sister, Jolene Olson and husband, Greg, of Paola; grandchildren, Caleb and Colton Camp, Alex De-Haven, and Grade Tolley; step-sons, Jesse Meek of Wichita; Tony Meek of Tulsa, Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Cara Hinshaw and husband Cody Hinshaw of Mulvane; step-grandchildren, Marek and Logan Hinshaw, and Gage and Tony Jolie Meek.

Darwin E. Olson
64, AUGUSTA
Darwin Eugene Olson was born on Oct. 27,1947, in Red Oak, Iowa,the son of Freder-ick Eugene and Betty Mae (Henderson) Olson. Darwin entered into eternal peace on Sunday, June 24,2012, at the Nebraska Medical Center surrounded by his loving and supportive family.
Celebration of Life Services were held on Thursday, June 28,2012 at the Augusta United Methodist Church. Burial will be held at the Essex, Iowa Cemetery on Saturday, June 30, 2012 following services at the Faith Covenant Church at 2:00 p.m.
Darwin was raised on a farm near Essex, Iowa and attended Coburg School through his Junior High years. He then attended Essex High School and graduated with the Class of1965. He went on to further his education at Peru State College, where he received his Bachelors Degree in 1970. In 1981 he received his Master’s Degree in Administration from Kansas State University.
On June 14,1969 Darwin was united in marriage to his best friend, Nancy Burke in Stanton, Iowa. Following their marriage they resided in Pem, Neb. until they finished college. They then moved to Seneca, Kan., Onaga, Kan., Mankato, Kan., Wamego, Kan., and finaflyto Augusta, where the couple has made their home for the past nine years.
Darwin’s career in education began as a history teacher and coach at the Nemaha Valley Jr. High in Seneca, Kair where he taught from 1970 until 1981. He then took his first Principal position for the Onaga School System in Onaga, Kan., where he served from 1981-1995. While in Onaga he also was a beloved coach at Onaga High School. He later accepted a Principal position with Mankato Elementary School where he served for four years. His final Principal position before retiring was with Riley Grade School where he served from 1999-2003. He had most recently been a bus driver for Butler County Transportation.
Darwin was a longtime member of the Kansas Association for Elementary Administrators and was very active in many church, school and community activities. He enjoyed gardening sports and helping others. Spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren brought him much joy. Darwin was a very compassionate and caring person.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Delores.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife Nancy of Augusta; daughters, Jill Grimmett and husband Michael of Augusta, and Brenda DeHass and husband Mike of Andover,; grandchildren, Gretehen and Hannah Grimmett, and Derek, McKenzie and Danielle DeHass; brothers, Tom Olson and wife Jennifer of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Bob Olson and wife Susan of Essex, Iowa; sister, Sharon Buckminster and husband Kim of Falls City, Neb.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Augusta United Methodist Church.
Hackett-Iivingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah, Iowa was in charge of the arrangements.
