99, AUGUSTA

Naoma J. Finlay, 99, homemaker of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Sept.
2, 2012.
Viewing Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta;
service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church, Augusta. Graveside service 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Carbondale Cemetery, Carbondale, Kan.
Naoma was born in Ionia, Kan. on Sept. 26,1912, to the late Ina (Van Meter) and Everett Alcorn. She was a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church, a 63 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Outlook Club for over 50 years.
On Sept. 8, 1934 she married Gilbert H. "Pat" Finlay in Topeka.
She is survived by: sons, Robert Finlay and wife Mary of Emporia, Gary Finlay and wife Judy of Austin, Texas, and Don Finlay and wife Loweta of Augusta; grandchildren and spouses, April Finlay (Aaron Davis), Amber Crowl (Cliff), Steve Finlay, Brian Finlay (Becky), Tammy Cox (Brad), Teresa McDonald (Terry), and Eric Finlay (Meghann); 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; brothers, Clifford, Paul, Edgar and infant brother, Everett Merle Alcorn ; great-grandson, Kendall Dale Cox.
Memorial donations to Augusta First United Methodist Church or the Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star for training award.




Barbara J. McMillan
74, AUGUSTA

Barbara J. McMillen, 74, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at Harry Hynes Hospice.
She was bom on Dec. 3, 1937 to Everett H. and Verlie Mae Shinn. She married Fred McMillen on July 3, 1955. He survives.
She is also survived by: a sister, Shirley Minton of Morrilton, Ark.; 3 daughters, Pam Alexander and husband Rick of Meade, Kan., Phyllis Brewer and husband Harold of Augusta, and Paula Biddle and husband Tod of Fredrick, Colo.; 7 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Amy Biddle.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or to the A.S.P.C.A.

Gale (Tibbits) Kern, 63, of Augusta, entered eternal peace Saturday, Sept.1, 2012.
The celebration of her life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Gale was born in Wichita on Dec. 19,1948, to Kathryn (George) Tibbits and Archie Tibbits. She retired as a lady jig builder and master laser tracker from Hawker-Beechcraft in January of 2011.
She is survived by: mother, Kathryn Tibbits of Augusta; brother, Mike Tibbits and wife Connie of Wichita; daughter, Dawn Hromek and husband
Chris of Augusta; adopted son, Tony Elder and wife Chantel of Las Vegas, Nev.; stepdaughter, Cris Hoffman and husband Vern , of Wichita; stepson, Harold Hopp of Wichita; and adopted daughter , Jenni Lee; grandchildren,
Misty Hromek, Cody Hromek, Chevy Hoffman and Jayden Lee, She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Tibbits; husbands, David Lafferty, Lee Hopp and Ronnie Lee.
Memorial donations to KS Department of Wildlife and Parks.
