Schreiner dies in Topeka
Dr. Jerry O. Schreiner, 46, Topeka, son of B. “Pete” and Marjorie Schreiner of Douglass, and former Augusta educator, died Tuesday at a Topeka hospital.
His service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka. Rev. Paxton Jones will officiate. Masonic graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Highland Park Christian Church in Topeka.
Dr. Schreiner was executive director of the United School Administrators of Kansas and a lobbyist for that organization.
He had taught elementary school in Augusta and social studies in the Wichita school district.
He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He had been administrator at Roosevelt Junior High in Wichita, assistant principal at the Stillwater public schools, and director of the Stillwater Head Start Program.
He had also been a professor of University Extension at OSU in Tulsa, Okla., and director of instruction in the Garden Center Public School system.
He was a member of the Highland Park Christian Church
He was a member of the American Society of Association Executives, American Association of School Administrators, Phi Delta Kappa education fraternity and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
He was born Dec. 8, 1937 in Hays to Pete and Marjorie VanderVoort Schreiner. He married Joyce Marlene Smith April 1956 in Tyron, Okla.
In addition to Schreiner’s parents and his wife, survivors include two sons Philip O. and Douglas B., both at home; a daughter, Deborah Marlene Forrestt of Oklahoma City, and two grandchildren.
Mother dies in Wichita
Mary Louise Keith, 59, Wichita, mother of Mary Ellen Seavey of Douglass, died Monday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center there.
Her services were at 10 a.m. today at the Resthaven Mortuary. Joe C. Brooks, reader for the First Church of Christ Scientist, will officiate at the funeral. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington. Rev. Frank Bobbitt will officiate there.
A memorial has been established with the Kanza Chapter American
Businesswomen’s Association Scholarship Fund.
She was born Jan. 31, 1925 in Herington to Elmer and Bessie Stout Wald Sr. She married Clarence Keith. He preceded her in death.
She was an accountant for the Farm Credit Bank in Wichita.
Other survivors include sons, Ray, Glenn Alan and Brian Harvey Keith, all of Wichita, Kenneth of Great Bend; a brother, Robert Wald Sr. of Herington, and six grandchildren.

Kelley dies at age 90
Clara Lorena Kelley, 90, a homemaker, Augusta, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday. The Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born July 25, 1894 in Illinois to John W. Vinson and Anna Bundy. She married Orville Kelley in 1914 near Leon. He preceded her in death in 1934.
Survivors include a daughter, Audine Kelley and a sister, Mrs. Florence Dunn of Augusta.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
