Prigmore dies in Winfield
Clara E. Prigmore, 92, Winfield, died Wednesday morning at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Winfield.
Prigmore was born Dec. 6, 1891, near Leon to William L. and Effie McCullough Allen. She received her education in the Leon schools and attended Fairmont College in Wichita.
She married Charles F. Prigmore Feb. 21, 1912 in El Dorado. He preceded her in death in 1973.
She made her first home in the Bloomington area. She moved to Winfield in 1929, residing there 14 years. She then moved to McPherson in 1943, returning to Winfield in 1967.
She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Winfield and had been active in the Women's Mission Society. She was affiliated with the William Newton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the WCTU in McPherson and Winfield, the Winfield Senior Citizens and Winfield Good Samaritan Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne A. of Lakewood, Colo. C., Eldon of Yucca Valley, Calif, and Phillip E. of Peoria, Ariz.; one daughter Mrs. Allene
Archer of Winfield; two brothers, Raymond Allen of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Clarence Allen of Chehalis, Wash.; three sisters, Mary Aikens and Edna Hildreth, both of El Dorado, and Ruth Covert of Wichita; 11 grandchildren; one stepgrandson, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 step-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter.
A memorial had been established with the Free Methodist church in Winfield.

Hammel dies in Missouri
Dr. George W. Hammel, Belle Vista, Ark., former El Dorado physician and a former trustee for Butler County Community College, died in a Joplin, Mo., hospital Wednesday.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
He practiced in El Dorado for 32 years where he was associated with the El Dorado Clinic.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hammel of the home.

Ronald Rice dies at 80
Ronald R. Rice, 80, Abilene, former El Dorado car dealer, died at a hospital there Sunday.
His service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the McGill Cemetery in Potwin.
A memorial has been established with the Parkinson Disease Association in care of Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
He was a longtime auto dealer in El Dorado, Abilene and Florence. He was also involved in the banking, oil and cattle industries.
Survivors include his wife, Julia of the home; a daughter, Sally Colingwood of Wichita, and three grandchildren.

Calvin Gean dies at 64
Calvin J. Gean, 64, Derby, brother of Jack Gean of Douglass, died Tuesday.
His services were at 10 a.m. today at the Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the Calvary Baptist Church in Derby.
Other survivors include his wife, Elwanda; sons, Jerry of Mulvane, Tom of Derby, Master Sgt. Danny of Fairbanks, Alaska; stepmother, Ann of Wichita; brothers. Bob of Oxnard, Calif., Lewis of Wichita, Kenneth of Protection; sisters, Billie Kelly of Orlando, Fla., Joyce Grunden of Wichita, Mary Offield of Coldwater, Anna Lou Stafford of Torrance, Calif., and four grandchildren.
