81, PLAINVILLE, KAN.

Betty (Chappell) McClelland, 81, Plainville, Kan., formerly of Augusta, died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012.
Service arrangements are pending with Plummer Funeral Home in Plainville.

Raymond Basquez
84, AUGUSTA, KAN.

Raymond Basquez, 84, of Augusta, passed away on his 6lst wedding anniversary, Monday, December 24, 2012.
Raymond was born in Capurte, SD on August 30, 1928 to the late Rafalia Basquez (Jaramillo) and Andrew Basquez. Also waiting on his heavenly arrival were his brothers, Nicholas, Daniel, Gonzales, Jesse and Ralph Basquez; sisters, Johnnie Basquez and Chancy Lee Sloan.
He served in the Oklahoma National Guard as a PFC. Raymond worked for Lewis Morris Construction before starting his own construction company. He was responsible for building many subdivisions and residential homes in Augusta. He also built many landmarks in the Augusta area including the Armory, the old Augusta State Bank building and was involved in many commercial remodeling projects.
Raymond walked the talk and had a strong faith. His favorite scripture was John 14 and he loved talking about the place that God has prepared for us. He was devoted to his family and committed to his church. On Dec. 24,1951 he married his wife and soul mate, Corene (Westerman) in Wetumka, Ok., who survives him. Together they built a successful home and business. They opened their home and hearts to many.
Being family was one of the most important values he learned as a child and he taught to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, which includes: sons, Gene (Ruth) Basquez, Augusta, David Basquez of Wichita, Douglas (Nancy) of El Dorado, daughters Vicky (Robert) Clifford of Augusta and Raylene (Pastor Jerry) Burns of Leon. Grandchildren include Mindi, Kristi, Chelia, Jon, Amy, Andy, Brice, Brent, Tricia, Amanda, Matthew, Jerrica, Abbey and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Jim Basquez ofWetumka, Ok; sisters, Doris Davis of Glenpool, OK., Julia (Alvin) Keathley of Wetumka and Maggie (Kenneth) Johnson of Har-risonville, MO.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 26 from 5-7 pm at Headley Funeral Chapel, 813 State St, Augusta. Services at 2 pm., Thurs., Dec. 27th at Community Crossroads Church, 720 State, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta

Treva L. Graham
86, BEATRICE, NEB.

Treva L. Graham, 86, of Beatrice, Neb., died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012. .
Inurnment will be at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28,2012, at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice.
She was born on May 4, 1926 at Douglass, Kan. She lived on the farm with her family for 17 years when they moved to Illinois.
She returned to Kansas and attended Kansas State University and then Emporia State Teachers College. She owned and operated the Ivy House Floral Shop in Augusta before marrying Donald Graham on Dec. 30, 1951 at Augusta.
They lived in Augusta and other Kansas communities before moving to Missouri in 1973 and then to Beatrice in 1978. She taught first grade for 15 years in Kansas and Missouri and when they came to Beatrice she worked for Countryside Florist until retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice and had been active in the Ladies Circle and Keystone Supper group. She enjoyed her grandchildren, doing crafts and painting.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Schroeder and husband Kenton of Dewitt; two sons, Richard Graham and wife Melody of Duncan, Okla, and James Graham and wife Lana of Carthage, Mo.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Howard Smith of Webb City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Nola Blinn of Topeka; three nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Meta DeFore Len; her husband Donald, who died June 30, 2010; one daughter, Treva Sue Smith, who died in 1976; one granddaughter, Kathleen Schroeder; one sister, Dorothy Graham.
A memorial has been established to the Centenary United Methodist Church TV ministry.
