James M. Ohl
85, AUGUSTA

James Michael Ohl, 85, Augusta, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013.
, A memorial service for family and special friends will be held at jl a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at the Augusta First Christian Church.
James was born on Nov. 16,1927, near Manchester, Okla. He graduated from Wakita High School and married Jo | Helen Gar-j rett. He ‘ served in the United States Air Force, received his Master's degree from Wichita State University, where he taught a few years before going to Butler County Community College and then retired in 1994. During part of this time, he also ministered to the Hilltop Community Church in Wichita.
He is survived by: his wife; two sons, Mark and Daniel.

Clyde Spires
79, AUGUSTA

Clyde Murray Spires. 79 of rural Augusta, died Saturday,March 2,2013.
The celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado. Burial will follow the services in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
Clyde was born Oct. 17, 1933 in El Dorado, the son of Clyde Harvey and Lillian Good Spires. He attended school in El Dorado and graduated with the Class of 1952. He also attended Butler County College. During the Korean War he served his country in the United States Navy.
On Nov.13,1955 he married Inez Dorrene Burk-land in Oldsburg, Kan. She preceded him in death Oct. 29, 2004. For 43 years he worked at Beech Aircraft in the Fabrication department retiring as supervisor in 1995.
Memberships included the First Christian Church, Patmos Masonic Lodge, Wichita Scottish Rite and the Order of the Eastern Star. He loved to travel with friends and family.
Surviving family include: daughter and her husband Marcella and Sam Scribner; brother, Clifford Spires of El Dorado; sisters, Darlene Montgomery of El Dorado and Phyllis Calvert of Wichita; grandchildren A.Z. Scribner and Samantha Scribner, both of Augusta; great-grandchild, Pepper Scribner; and his buddy Oscar.

Susan Barbee
49, AUGUSTA

Susan Marie (Hayes) Barbee, 49, of Augusta, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Ri-bordy home in Augusta.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a m. on Friday, March 8,2013, at Haverhill Christian Church.
Susan was bom Jan. 11, 1964, to Norman Larry and Norma June (Simpson) Hayes in Topeka. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1985.
Her survivors include: husband, Glenn Barbee of Nashville, Tenn.; her best friends and caregivers, Jeff and Robin Ribordy of Augusta; step-father, William ’’Bill” Greeve of Topeka; brother, Daniel Hayes of Wiggins, Miss.; nieces and nephews, Jason, J.D. and Payton Lee, Kasey, Michael, Seth, Kplton, Kolby, Daniel, Karla, Sarah, Makayla, Kyleigh Ribordy, and Solomon Leach.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel Barbee, and a brother, David Greeve.

Elvin Shufelberger
72, SALINA

Elvin E. Shufelberger, 72, of Salina, died March 3, 2013 in Inman, Kan.
There will be no visi-taion. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St. in Salina. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina,
Elvin was bom on May 29, 1940 in Greensburg, Kan. He was a retired machinist from Boeing Aircraft.
He was preceded in death by his father Walter Shufelberger, and a son Carl Willis.
He is survived by: his wife of 45 years Barbara Shufelberger; his mother, Lila Shufelberger of Wichita; two sisters, Dorothy Ohmart and husband Bill and Valeda Hansen, all of Wichita; a daughter, Leann Hargget of Charlotte, NC; sons, Joe Willis and wife Sherryl of Inman, Kan., Larry Willis and wife Cindy of Salina, and James Willis and wife Cheryl of Inman; a daughter-in-law, Pam Willis of Salina; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Harden Hospice of McPherson County.
