Ben F. Hartman died Saturday
Benjamin F. Hartman, 78, formerly of Augusta, died Saturday in Flourtown, Pa.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. this coming Saturday in the Mission Chapel Mausoleum in Wichita. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate.
A memorial has been established with American Heart Association.
He was born Dec. 20, 1905 in Beloit to John and Agnes Scanlon Hartman.
He married Charlotte L. Bailey. She preceded him in death May 4.
He was a chemical engineer at the Mobil Oil refinery here.
Survivors include a son, Stuart B. Hartman of Flourtown; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Max Bickford
Max Bickford, retired executive officer of the state Board of Regents, and former superintendent of schools in El Dorado, died Sunday at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Bickford served as superintendent in El Dorado for six years after holding administrative jobs there for 15 years.
He served as executive director for the state board from 1961 to 1976.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Nancy Bandy of Texas and a son, William of Arizona.

Sondra Bohannon
dies in Wichita
Sondra D. Bohannon, 44, Leon, died Thursday at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Leon United Methodist Church. Rev. Jean Wilcox will officiate and burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
She was Sept. 19, 1939 in Leon to Leslie and Nadine Palmer Eckel.
She married Don Bohannon Aug. 11, 1957 in Leon. He survives.
She was an elementary school teacher.
She was a member of the Little Walnut Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Leon, Theta Pi sorority, the Leon United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include a son, Dr. C. Douglas Bohannon of El Dorado, and daughters, Dianne of El Dorado and Jan Bohannon of Leon.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Lee A. Mead dies at AMCI
Lee Andrew Mead, 73, 1704 Highland, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple City, Kan., cemetery at 4 p.m.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church in Augusta.
He was born March 13, 1911 in Cowley County to Oliver M. and Mamie Emma Pike Mead.
He married Juanita Hill and she preceded him in death in 1969.
He married Lena R. Semisch April 1, 1971. She survives.
He was a retired experimental engineer for Boeing Military Aircraft Co. Before that he was a teacher and a coach at Clover-dale, Latham and Haverhill.
He was a Methodist.
Other survivors include sons, Stanley Eugene of Belle Plaine and Donald Hugh of Wichita; daughters, Lea Anita Lemmons of Pittsburg, Lorna Mae Cook of Casper, Wyo.; stepdaughters, Phyllis Shanline of Manhattan and Joan Kennedy of Overland Park; a brother, John Mead of Independence; a sister, Clarissa Wheat of Yukon,
Okla.; 13 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Elmer, preceded him in death.

Evea Stewart dies at 84
Evea R. Stewart, 84, Douglass, died Friday at the Douglass Nursing Center.
Her service was at 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ in Douglass. Keith Shepherd officiated and burial was in the Cumberland Cemetery in rural Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the Maude Carpenter Childrens Home in Wichita and Douglass Public Library.
She was born Jan. 7, 1900 in Rardin, Ill., to Oscar and Loudella Moody Guest.
She married Homer Stewart Nov. 2, 1918. He survives.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Douglass. She had lived in Douglass about 60 years. 1
Other survivors include a daughter, Gerry Jenkins of Douglass; a sister, Lucille Young of Lawrence; two granddaughters, and three great-grandsons.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass was in charge of arrangements.
