Mother Dies At Wichita
Ruth M. Wiegert, 58, Wichita, mother of Jerilyn Wheatley of Augusta, died Monday at the Catholic Center for the Aging in Wichita.
A graveside service will be held for her at 11 o’clock tomorrow morning at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
She was born May 18, 1923 at St. Joseph, Mo. Her husband, Bud Wiegert, preceded her in death.
In addition to the daughter here, she leaves a son, Jim of Wichita, a brother, Bob Mat-tucks of St. Joseph, Mo., and two sisters, Mildred Guinn of Kansas City, Mo., and Edith Leu of San Diego, Calif.
A memorial has been suggested to the Catholic Center for the Aging.

Sara Porter Dies At 82
Sarah Jane Porter, 82, Mesa, Ariz., died Friday, Feb. 12, at Tempe, Ariz.
A funeral service for the Leon native will be held at 10:30 o’clock tomorrow morning at the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Richard Bacon of the First Christian Church will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 22, 1898 to George J. and Loretta Phelps McDuffee.
On May 2, 1917, she married Fred S. Porter in a ceremony at Cherokee, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Porter leaves a son, Wayne Porter of Huntington Beach, Calif., and a sister, Vinita Hunt of Cherokee, Okla.

H. Shawver Dies At 67
Herschel Shawver, 67, Wichita, a former Augusta oilman, died Wednesday.
His service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He had an office north of the Augusta Bank & Trust building in the 1950s and 1960s. He was also a rancher southeast of Douglass where he introduced Charolais cattle to the area.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; a son N. Trip Shawver of Wichita; a daughter, Jane Jenkins of Atlanta; mother, Laura Shawver, Wichita; a brother, Don Shawver, Wichita and two sisters, Dorothy Poe of Wichita and Mildred Seeley of Seattle, Wash.

Kirkpatrick Dies At 92
Clara L. Kirkpatrick, 92, 232 Main, died Friday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her service was at 2 p.m. today at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Phil McCormick officiated and burial was at the Branson Cemetery in Gypsom Township.
She was bom July 19,1889 in Butler County to Elbridge and Sarah Lackay Dennett.
She married Aubrey Kirkpatrick who preceded her in death in 1951.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Harold Kirkpatrick of Augusta; a daughter, Alice Diller of Augusta; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Lois, and a son, Lowell, preceded her in death.

Granddaughter Dies At Winfield
Victoria Catherine Gash, eight-month-old-granddaughter of Leonard and Mary Gash of Augusta, died Saturday at Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Clearwater Cemetery. Father Arthur Busch will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the Institute of Logopedics in Wichita.
She was bom June 2, 1981 in Wellington to Steven and Debra Roedell Gash. They survive.
Survivors also include a a sister, Teresa Gash of the home; grandparents, Donald and Georgia Roedell of Clearwater, and great-grandparents, Jennie Boxford of Woodward, Okla., Irene Loomis of Moreland, Okla.

Ex-Augustan Dies In Oklahoma At 81
Mrs. Alta J. Reedy, 81, Bartlesville, Okla., formerly of Augusta, died Friday.
Her service was at 11 a.m. today at the Colonial Chapel of the Neekamp Funeral Home in Bartlesville. Mac Bain officiated and burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville.
She was bom Oct. 1, 1900 in Butlerville, Ark., to Jim W. and Della Fields Walls
She married G. A. Gordon who preceded her in death. In 1962 she married Everett W. Reedy in Augusta. They have lived in Bartlesville since 1962.
When she lived in Augusta, she own and operated Gordon’s Barber and Beauty.
Besides her husband other survivors include five stepdaughters, Betty Elleman, Ruth Cagle, Pat Grant, all of Bartlesville, Ida Mae Folk of Chelsea, Okla., and Wilda Fuller of Wichita; five stepsons, Walter C. Reedy of Tulsa, Okla., John C. Reedy of Caldwell, Robert T. Reedy of Bartlesville, Everett A. Reedy of Wellington, Cecil Gordon of Peoria, Ariz.; a brother, Albert Walls of Luxora, Ark., 26 step-grandchildren and 31 step great-grandchildren.
