Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Hillside East Funeral Home, Wichita. Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Geneva R. Keehn

Geneva R. Keehn, 89, Towanda, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013.
Rosary 7 p m. Monday and Mass 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, both at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Don Clark
66, DEMING, NM
Don Clark, 66, retired realtor of Deming, NM, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013.
Graveside 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31,2013, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Those attending should use the Ohio Street entrance.
Don was bom in Kansas City, Mo. on Oct. 15,1946, to the late Alice (Belscher) and Raymond Clark. On Dec. 22,1967 he married Mary (Williams) in Miami, Okla, and she survives.
He is also survived by: a daughter, Leeanna Herman and husband Todd of Wichita; and granddaughters, Danielle, Taylor, and Kylee Herman.

Dollie L. Haskins, 83, of Latham, passed away on Thursday, Aug.29, 2013 at home with family.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug.3l, 2013 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.

Eula E. Payton, age 96 years and 11 months,of Douglass, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. ,with family receiving friends 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, Hilyard-Smith Mortuary, 507 S. Maple in Douglass. Funeral service 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, Douglass United Methodist Church, 204 S. Willow.
Eula was born Sept.
12,1916 to Glenn and Esther (Stanley) Rowe. She married Leonard “Bud” Payton, Nov. 14, 1936. She worked at Boeing for 7 years and as a school cook at Douglass for 17 years.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; 4 siblings,
1 grandchild and 1 greatgrandchild.
Survivors include: her children, Charlene Davis (Don), Roger Payton (Pat), Georgia Bergley (Russ), 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren,
5 step great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 step great-great-grand-children.
Memorials have been established with the Douglass United Methodist Church, 204 S. Willow, Douglass, KS 67039 and Douglass Senior Center, P.O. Box 302, Douglass, KS 67039.

Carol “Sue” Metzger
71, ALMA, MO

Carol “Sue” Metzger, age 71, of Alma, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Chelsea Community Hospital. Sue was born September 2,1942 in Kansas, the daughter of George Henry Ford Ammons and Mabel Daphene (Branstetter).
She grew up in Augusta, Kansas, graduating from Augusta High School with the class of I960. She married Don Metzger on January 27, 1963 and together they raised five children and welcomed 13 foster children into their home. They moved to Alma in 1984 and received her Bachelor of Arts from Alma College in 1987- She worked for the Morning Sun for many years as a weekly columnist, retiring in 2010. Sue was a member of the St. Louis Church of Christ, PEO and the FFF. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, being with her grandchildren, playing competitive games like spoons and following the Detroit Tigers and Kansas University Basketball team.
She is survived by her husband Don of Alma, sons Alan (Wendy) Metzger of Ft. Collins, CO., Jason (Misty) Metzger of Alma, daughters Amy Morgan of Moore, OK., Bonnie (Rob) Bisson of Dexter, 11 grandchildren Molly, Noah, Lexi, Payton, Avreigh, Morgan, Tyler, Emma, Hunter, Holland, and Hudsen and a brother, Calvin Gene Ammons of Wichita, Kansas.
Sue was preceded in death by her son Justin in 2003.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2 pm at the St. Louis Church of Christ, with Pastor Justin Daron officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Alma.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 am until the time of services, all at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mamie Alice (Grossarth) McJunkin, 88, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013. Mamie was born December 24,1924, to Grover Cleveland and Edith Marie (Sharp) Grossarth in Quincy, Kansas.
