Emery ‘Hub’ Wheeler
79, GARDNER
Emery Eugene “Hub” Wheeler, 79, of Gardner, Kan., passed away Oct. 19, 2013 at his home.
Visitation will be from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.22, 2013 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, 913-856-7111. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23,
2013 in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Emery was born Oct.
2,1934 in Augusta, to William E. and Mary Frances Hartup Wheeler. He grew up in Topeka and graduated from Jennings High School. Hub served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. He worked at a Mobil Oil refinery in Augusta. After his retirement he moved to Gardner in the late 1970’s to care for his mother. Hub worked in construction and did odd jobs for families and friends, also helping at Bruce Funeral Home. Hub was an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Frances Britton and Billie Jo Wheeler, and brother, Dale Wheeler.
Hub is survived by: sister, Romona Howard and his many nieces and nephews.

Jeanice R. Lewis, 52, of Augusta, passed away Monday,Oct.21, 2013 in Wichita.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25; service Lewis at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Jeanice was born in Phillipsburg, Kan. on April 7,1961, to the late Naomi Louise (Snider) and Robert A. Bybee. Jeanice worked as an assistant court clerk for the City of Augusta and had been a bookkeeper for Knebler construction.
On June 24,1978 she married Dennis Lewis in Augusta and he survives her.
She is also survived by: sons, Tony Lewis and Mike Lewis and wife Priscilla, all of Augusta; brother, Robert Thornton of Shell Knob, Mo.; grandchildren, Caleb and Callie Lewis; uncles, John and Lyla Bybee, Merle and Lucille Snider, Jim and Florence Bybee; aunts, Ann DeHoff and Jeanne Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews;
She was preceded in death by son, Christopher Alan Lewis, and brother, Dale Bybee.
Memorial donations to Potwin Christian Church.

Tamra "Tammy” Leanne (Adams) Hiser, 48, Augusta, passed away
peacefully into her heavenly home on Sunday,Oct. 20, 2013.
Viewing 1-5, and visitation to follow with family present to greet friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 24, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1501 State Street, Augusta.
Tammy was born Aug. 2,1965, to Clair "Don" and Janice (Karr) Adams in Wichita. She graduated from Andover High School and received a business degree from Butler County Community College. She married Terry Lee Hiser on Dec. 3,1983, at First Baptist Church of Augusta. Tammy was a hairdresser for 27 years, and worked at PT Plus in Augusta and Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita in their medical billing departments.
Her survivors are: her husband Terry Hiser of the home; sons, Logan, Mason, Gavin and Colin Hiser; mother, Janice Raner of McPherson; step-mother, Judy Adams of Hawk Point, Mo.; brothers, Dennis and Wade Adams of Wichita and Rodney Adams of McPherson; sisters, Catrina Thornton of McPherson, Kandis (David) Nye of Bushton, Kansas, Traci Adams of Wichita,Regina (Mitch) Ensor of Paris, Missouri, Kimberly (Kenny) Edwards of Augusta, and Angela Raner of McPherson; parents-in-law, Rick and Betty Hiser of Augusta.
She was preceded in death by her father, Don Adams and a sister, Jody Allerton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with First Baptist Church, Make A Wish Foundation,Ride Rank for a Cure, Amedisys Hospice, all in care of Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.
