Raymond Boucher
95, AUGUSTA
Raymond Dee Boucher, 95, died Oct. 19, 2013 in Andover.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thesday, Oct. 22, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the Augusta First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Raymond was born Jan. 12,1918 on a farm northwest of Augusta
and was the fourth of six children born to Harley Oliver and Flora Iola Theetge Boucher.
He married Lovey Arlene Patterson April 1, 1937 in Wichita. Lovey died March 18, 2001, just a few days prior to their 64th wedding anniversary. They were life long residents of the Augusta area.
Raymond grew up on his father's dairy farm west of Augusta and helped deliver milk, by team and wagon, in Augusta. He and Lovey ran a creamery in Augusta and they farmed for several years before he went to work at Boeing in Wichita. While at Boeing he had assignments in Seattle, Wash. and Shreveport, La. He retired in February 1979 as a supervisor having worked at Boeing for over 35 years.
Ray loved to be outdoors, trapping, hunting and fishing in his younger years, and of course, working in his yard and garden. He took great pride in his garden and really enjoyed sharing his bounty with friends and neighbors. Ray was an accomplished story teller and domino player. But the accomplishment he was most proud of was the home he built east of Augusta with assistance from brothers Charley and Harley. He and Lovey resided there for over 40 years prior to moving into a new home in Augusta in 1997.
Raymond was member of the First United Methodist Church, and a member of the local Masonic Lodge for over 68 years.
Survivors are: sons, Marland and wife Vicky Boucher of Garfield,
Ark., Ross and wife Jill Boucher of Augusta; daughter, Kathy and husband Jerry Baker of Plano, Texas; two grandchildren, Heather Hepburn of The Woodlands, Texas, and Shannon Morgan of Wichita; three great-grandchildren, Mikalya and Austin Hepburn and Kyle Fretz and wife Michelle of Beaumont, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lovey; his parents; brothers, Charley, Harley R. and Earl; sisters, Ethel Broomfield and Beulah White; granddaughter, Dana Fretz.
