Mother dies in Wichita
Helen M. Hanson, 60, Wichita, mother of Barbara E. Lee of Douglass, died there Saturday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
The rosary will be said at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary Chapel in Wichita. Father David Spexart will officiate. Her service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the All Saints Catholic Church in Wichita. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
She was born March 28, 1924 in Lawrence to Thomas and Edna Weinberg Corcoran.
Survivors include a son, James M. of Wichita; another daughter, Beverly Gessler of Cherryvale; brother, William Corcoran of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mary Paxton of Lawrence, and six grandchildren.

Jared Cox dies at 73
Jared W. Cox, 73, Hutchinson, brother of J.F. Cox Jr. of Douglass, died Saturday.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God in Hutchinson. Pastor John Chastain and Rev. Russell Rexroat will officiate and burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson.
He was born Sept. 25, 1911 in Corwin to J. Frank and Millie Clark Cox.
Cox married Lena M. Keimig June 23, 1930 in Attica. She survives.
He was retired Dillons Co. employee.
Other survivors include a son, Richard of Great Bend; daughters, Verna Oiler of
Kingman, Deannie Dixon of Wichita, Donna Jones of Austin, Texas, Charlotte Mooney of Greenleaf; brothers, Delmer of Kingman, Marlin of San Marcos, Calif., Dean of Cedar Vale; a sister, Eileen Warrington of Hutchinson; 26 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Elliott Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ex-Augustan dies in 65
L.B. Clifford, 65, Blytheville, Ark., formerly of Augusta, died Thursday, Sept. 27.
His funeral service was 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville. Rev. Ray Bowman officiated and burial was in the Dogwood Cemetery there.
Mr. Clifford was born Nov. 20, 1918 in Coffeyville.
He married Peggy Campbell. She survives.
He was a retired employee of the Agrico Chemical Co. in Blytheville.
Mr. Clifford was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He was also a Presbyterian.
Other survivors include a son, Stephen Clifford of Belprey, Ohio; a daughter, Carolyn Hicks of Blytheville; a brother, Paul Clifford of Cane Hill, Ark., a sister, Bernece Gordon of Marlow, Okla., and four grandchildren.,

Son dies at 61
in Washington
Jack H. Evans, 61, Longview, Wash., son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Evans of Augusta, died Sept. 26 in Ridgefield, Wash.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the First Christian Church of Longview, Wash.
Other survivors include his wife, Elaine; daughters, Deanna Anderson, Jackie Anderson, Lori Aune; a son, Jack; sisters, Lila Cone of Wichita, Mrs. LeRoy (Luella) Simon of Augusta; a brother, James Evans of El Dorado, and six grandchildren.

Sister died Sunday at 88
Anna B. Bishop, 88, Benton, sister of Alma Bishop of Augusta, died Sunday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Benton United Methodist Church. Rev. Duane Harms will officiate and burial will be in the Benton Cemetery.
She was born June 14, 1896 in Leon to Robert Bert and Maude Mae Chamberlain Martin.
She married Jesse Lee Bishop March 4, 1916 in El Dorado. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Benton Golden Age Club, the Benton United Methodist Church and the Benton Kitchen Kutups Band.
Survivors also include a son, Dr. Ralph Bishop; a brother, Clay Martin, both of Wichita; another sister, Hattie Bishop of Wichita; five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Bernice McDaniel dies at 79
Bernice F. McDaniel, 79, Winfield, sister of Elbert Widener of Augusta, died Monday at a nursing home there.
Her services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Miles Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Gardner will officiate and burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church and Cowley County Hospice Inc.
She was born Sept. 18, 1905 in Rock to Edgar and Susie McDaniel Widener.
She married Lyle E. McDaniel May 16, 1937 in Andover. He survives.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, John of Winfield, Melvin of Edmond, Okla.; another brother, Clay Widener of Denver, Colo.; sister, Grace Ritchie of Lamar, Mo., and three grandchildren.
