Maurice D. Darnell, 92
Maurice David Darnell, 92, El Dorado, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014.
Rosary 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta and mass 10 a.m. Friday,March 7, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church,
Augusta. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Augusta.
Maurice was born in Sunkist, Okla, on June 25,1921, to the late Eva (Caldwell) and Willis Samuel Darnell. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Maurice worked at Skelly, Getty, and retired from Texaco as a coker operator in June of 1983. On Oct. 3, 1942 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic
Church, in Wichita, he married Mary Margaret (Smarsh). She preceded him in death in June of 2013.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Dwayne Darnell, and sister, Jesse Halsell.
He is survived by: sons, Greg Darnell (Joyce) of Edwardsville and Steve Darnell (Connie) of El Dorado; daughter, Jean Thompson (Dennis) of Leon; grandchildren Chris Darnell (Kimberly), David Darnell (Jennifer), Angie
Clevenger (Brad) and Brandie Leep (Chad); great grandchildren Gregory Michael Darnell, Conner Darnell, Brooks Clevenger, Sydney Leep, Hal Leep, Ava Grace Darnell and Brianna Darnell.
Memorial donations to St. James Catholic Church building fund or to donor’s choice.

Judy Ellen Gardner, 57, Haverhill, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6; funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 7,2014, both at Dunsford Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Judy was born Oct. 5,1956, to Eudell and Carol Williams in Wichita. She attended Leon High School in Leon. Judy was united in marriage to Thomas Gardner on Sept. 25,1996 in Batesville, Ark. She worked for Pioneer Balloon Factory. Judy enjoyed her cats and liked to fish.
Her survivors include: her husband, Tom Gardner of Haverhill; son, Wayne Allen of Florida; daughter, Misty Dawn of Wichita; mother, Carol Williams of Augusta.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Eudell.
Memorials have been established with the Amedisys Hospice in care of Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta.
