Sara A. Smith, 23

Sara Ann Smith, 23, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, March 15,2014 in Wichita from injuries in a motor vehicle accident only two days after her father Randy passed away.
A visitation and service will be shared with her father, Randy E. Smith.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Thursday, with family present to receive friends and celebration of life service 1 p,m, Friday, March 21,2014, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Sara was born on May 16,1990 in Wichita, to Donna Kay Smith and the late Randy Eugene Smith. She was a dental hygienist student at WSU just two months shy of graduating with honors. She also worked part time as a monitor technician and unit clerk at Kansas Medical Center in Andover. Her devotion to helping people was her attraction to the medical and dental field. Someday she hoped to provide free dental care to those who were unable to afford it. Like her father Randy, Sara’s passion was her family, her mother Donna Smith was her best friend and they were inseparable. She loved her nieces and nephews and took every opportunity she could to be a part of their world. Sarah had an energy that could light up a room, she was truly the glue that held the family together.
She is survived by: her mother, Donna Smith; grandmother, Ruth Evelyn Smith of Wichita; sisters, Stephanie Clasen and partner Sherri Stapleton of Wichita, and Jessica Clasen of Wichita; brothers, Joshua Clasen and wife Kacie of Augusta, Seth Smith of Augusta, Jacob Smith of Andover, and Steven Smith of Augusta; nephews and nieces, Gage, Dawson, Isabella, Kayden, Alexander, Owen and Rylee; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Randy E. Smith, 58

Randy E. Smith 58, Augusta, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved, on March 13, 2014.
A visitation and service will be shared with his daughter, Sara Ann Smith. Visitation 1- 8 p.m.
Thursday, with family present to receive friends, and celebration of life service 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Randy was born in Wichita on April 25, 1955, to Ruth Evelyn Smith and Billie Eugene Smith. He was a sheet metal mechanic at Boeing for over 19 years. On October 14,1988 at Miami, Okla., he married his soul mate, Donna (Clasen) who survives him. Randy’s true passion was his family and he lived every moment taking care of those he loved. He was incredibly proud of his children. He enjoyed watching sports with his boys, at any moment after his retirement from Boeing you could find him channel surfing and talking sports with his best friend and son, Seth Smith.
He is survived by: his wife and best friend of 26 years, Donna Smith; his mother, Ruth Smith of Wichita; his children, Stephanie Clasen and partner Sherri Stapleton of Wichita, Jessica Clasen of Wichita, Joshua Clasen and wife Kacie of Augusta, Seth Smith of Augusta, Jacob Smith of Andover, Steven Smith of Augusta; sisters, Connie McCoin of Henderson, Nev., Sharon Forshee of Wichita, and Karen Thurman of Wichita; and grandchildren, Gage, Dawson, Isabella, Kayden, Alexander, Owen and Rylee.
He was preceded in death by his father. In lieu of flowers the family has created a memorial for donations, Randy and Sara Smith Memorial Fund
