Mary L Willing, 85

Mary Louise (Selvage) Willing, 85, Augusta, passed away, Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3; funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, both at Dunsford* Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta.
Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Mary was born Sept. 8,1928, in Leon, to William Clay and Etta Mae (Hartwell) Selvage. Mary married Richard Dean Willing on June 9,1954, in Augusta. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her flower garden, walking, watching college basketball and professional baseball.
Her survivors include: her daughters, and their husbands, Carolyn and Thomas Eagleson and Janice and Mark, all of Augusta; sister, Mildred Trotter of Augusta; 8 grandchildren, Candace (Ed) Ratcliff, Christyn (Ryan) Atchison, Travis (Jennifer) Eagleson, Matthew Lietzke, Nicholas Lietzke, Nicole (Jesse) Young Jr., Matthew (Samantha) Pickarts, Marcus (Teresa) Pickarts; 10 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Griffin, Reese, Emmary, Dalaney, Broc, Hadleigh, Titus, Gage and Bo.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; grandson, Nathan Lietzke; five brothers, Walter, Leland, Virgil, Clifford and Charles Selvage; one sister Gladys Baker.
A memorial has been established with The Kansas Eye Bank in care of the funeral home.

Everett Johnson, 78

Everett Johnson, Christian soldier, finished his race July 22, 2014 in Tucson, Ariz.
A celebration of his life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Augusta.
He was born Feb. 25, 1936 to Lela Dickens and William A. Johnson in Augusta. Everett graduated from Augusta High School in 1954. He had an older sister, Claire (Mel) Hoover, a younger sister, Sharon (Ron) Rhoads and a younger brother, Bill (Lynda) Johnson. Everett joined the Navy for 4 years and saw four atomic bomb blasts. He was stationed on Kwajalein Island in the Pacific and served as a radar man in VP-28 Patrol Squadron. He was an ATI and a nuclear veteran. Everett graduated from the University of Kansas with a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1963. He taught at KU, McNeese State University and Wichita State University. He retired from WSU in 2000 as the Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. After retiring from teaching, Everett was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives, District 77. He served two terms, choosing not to run again due to a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. He married Marsha Sue Meyers in 1956 and they had two children. Will, an Arizona Air National Guard F-16 pilot, who is married to Jennifer Fait. They have two daughters, Jessica and Madison. And a daughter Cathy, an eighth grade math teacher at Robinson Middle School Wichita, who is married to Mike O'Gorman. Before moving to Arizona, Everett was an active member of First Baptist Church, Augusta Kansas. He taught Sunday School classes for 35 years. Everett was also an active member of the Augusta community.
