AUGUSTA
Michael S. Mead, 65

Michael Steven Mead, 65, of Augusta, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2014.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16; funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Michael was born on Feb. 19,1949, to June (Countryman) Casteel and the late Virgil Mead. Michael served in the Marine Corps and worked as a plumber most of his life.
He was preceded in death by sister, Terri Smith.
Survivors include: his mother of Augusta; brother, Ronald Mead and wife Connie; sister, Patricia Alfrey and husband Pat, all of Augusta; sister, Virginia BeAney and husband Mike of Fort Collins, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Roberta Selvage, 97

Roberta Selvage, 97, loving mother and grandmother of Augusta, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11,2014.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Monday, Sept.15, 2014, at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta. Private graveside service Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
Roberta was born in White City, Kan. on Aug. 25,1917, to the late Lola (Jonas) and George "Brick" Stage. She was a homemaker and worked
at the Dari-Ette and for the Augusta school lunch program. On Dec. 13,1933 she married Walter Selvage. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by: daughters, Shirley Chance of Ogden, Utah, Marilyn Graham, Mavis Hall and husband Ben, and Deborah Carr, all of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Kathy Selvage of Wichita; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren; 2 step granddaughters, 6 step great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-greatgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by: her sons, Howard, Daniel and Dennis Selvage; brothers, Harry and Laurel Stage; sisters, Ruth Swink and Audrey McCoy and a step granddaughter.
