Vivian J. Austin, 88
Vivian Janell (McDermed) Austin, 88, passed away peaceful-ly on Sunday, Dec. 28,
2014, at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colo.
Funeral service was held on Dec. 31, 2014, at Peace Mennonite Community Church,
Aurora, Colo. Interment was held Jan. 2, 2015,. at Hillside Cemetery in Jules-burg, Colo.
Vivian was bom March 19, 1926, in Augusta. She graduated from Augusta High School (1944) and Colorado Women’s College in Denver, Colo., obtaining a degree in Voice (1946) and Early Childhood Education (1972).
Vivian married first, Clayton Greenleaf in May, 1951 and their union gave them two daughters, who reside in Denver and Lone Tree, Colo.
She married second, LaVerne D. “Barney” Austin in 1982. They enjoyed 24 years together before his death in 2006.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa (Richard) Bristol and Laura (Michael) Garyet; one granddaughter; grandchildren by Barney’s two sons and one daughter, three grandsons and three
granddaughters.

Violet A. Cattin, 79 AUGUSTA
Violet Ann Cattin, 79, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 in Andover.
Viewing will be before the service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta.
Violet was born in Attica, Kan. on Jan. 24, 1935, to the late Margret Ada (Harding) and Ralph Melcher Cheslic. Violet was a homemaker and worked as a CNA in York, Neb. and Augusta. On Sept. 14, 1958 she married Marion "Bud” Cat-tin in Attica and he preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim Cheslic and sister, Marilyn Roach.
Violet is survived by: daughter, Debra Taylor of El Dorado; son, David Cattin of Augusta; daughters, Donna Borger and husband Darren of Andover; and Diane Cattin of Augusta; brothers, Don Ches-lic of Arkansas City; and Raymond Ches-lic of Jet, Okla.; sisters, Neoma Dale of Meridan, Alice Reed of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Carolin Ray, of Bella Vista, Ark; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations to Amedysis Hospice or Order of Eastern Star.
Tracy L. Ferguson, 46
Tracy Leigh Ferguson, 46, of Augusta, passed away Friday, Jan.l6, 2015 at home.
Memorial service was held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Tracy was born in Wichita, on July 21, 1968. She was a stock person at Wal-Mart.
She is survived by: her mother, Martha Ferguson of Rose Hill; a brother, Jason Ferguson and wife Deena of Papillion, Neb.; grandmother, Pat Ferguson of Wichita; aunt, Connie Kingsley and husband Michael of Wichita; uncle, Joe Palmer and wife Kris of Overland Park; and nephews Jaxon and Maxwell Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Conner; step-father, Bob Ferguson; and grandparents, Jim and Lois Palmer, and Thad Ferguson.
