Neva L. Wiske, 83
Neva Lorene Wiske, 83, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Homestead Assisted Living facility in Augusta.
Visitation with family present from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22; funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday,
Jan. 23, 2015, both at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary in Clearwater. Burial will follow at the Argonia Cemetery, Argonia, Kan.
Neva was bom Oct. 25, 1931, on a farm near Argonia, the fourth of five children born to W. C. (Johnie) and Mary Ann (Stephens) John. She grew up in the Ar-gonia community and attended Argonia schools. Neva started her secretarial career at the Argonia High School after graduating as valedictorian of her high school class in 1949. She later worked at Watkins in Wichita and retired from Boeing in 1996.
Neva was united in marriage in 1953 to LaVern Wiske of Nashville, Kan., and to that union were born four children, Susan, Marylee, Jason and James. Over the years, while raising an active family in the Clearwater area, Neva and Vern operated the Clonmel Grocery Store and then later the Hockett Tavern in Clearwater. In 1991, Neva moved to Wellington to help with her mother's final illness and then moved to Augusta in 1999 to be close to her daughter, Marylee, and her family.
During her retirement she volunteered at Robinson Elementary in Augusta, Kansas sharing with them her love of reading. She enjoyed playing the piano, occasional trips and the challenge of crossword puzzles. Neva will be remembered by all who knew and loved her
as a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
Neva was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three of her four siblings, Betty Hall, Lela Bevan, and Leroy John.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Wiske of Prairie Village, Marylee (Glen) Young of Augusta, Jason (Tiffany) Wiske of Pittsburg, and James Wiske of Over-land Park; her sister, Elaine (Don) Grimm of Santa Barbara, Calif.; sister-in-law, Kathryn (Leroy) John of Chanute and Betty Lou (Al) Miller of Rosedale, Calif.; 7 grandchildren, Marla (Chris) Smith Amie (Damon) Wignall, Sarah (Mitch) Coffman, Nick Young, and Logan, Madeline, and Autumn Wiske; 5 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Chloe, and Victoria Wignall, and Ella Neva and Daphne Smith; 1 great- great-granddaughter, Charlotte Wignall; a host of nieces and nephews.

Doris Marie Proctor, 78, of Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, Jan.20, 2015.
Visitation will be
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 23, with no family time scheduled; funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan.24, 2015, both at the Dunsford Funeral Home in
Augusta. Doris was born on Oct. 11, 1936, to Robert and Ida Martha (Seiler) Simon in Conway Springs. She graduated from Hilton Grade School in 1954. She mar-
ried Bobby Dean Proctor on Aug. 27, 1955 in Augusta. Doris was a homemaker and worked for the Augusta Locker, Wal-Mart of Augusta, Griffin Helmet, and Fugate Floor Coverings, as well as working on the rural Augusta family farm with her husband and children. She enjoyed sewing, she made her children's clothes when they were little. She also enjoyed boating, skiing, hunting with her husband as well as traveling with her family, especially to Las Vegas.
Her survivors include: her son, Bruce and his wife Kim Proctor of Leon; daughter, Diane and her husband John Sullivan of Andover; brothers, Dennis Simon, Elmer Simon, Kenneth Simon and Earl Simon; sisters, Joann Hiemermann, Mary Anderson and Betty Carroll.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Cletus, Gene and Leroy Simon; sisters, Ethel MacKay and Thelma Hoge.
Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
