Linda B. Currier, 81, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and GG, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was bom January 26, 1934, on a farm near Medford, Okla.
She and her husband Willis Currier were married July 9, 1953, while Willis was on leave from Army Basic Training. They moved to Wichita in 1957 to start new careers and a family, then later moved to a farm in the Augusta area to enjoy wildlife and country living. Linda was a bright, energetic, feisty, and determined woman with many talents. She began a long career with AUGUSTA

She and her husband Willis Currier were married July 9, 1953, while Willis was on leave from Army Basic Training. They moved to Wichita in 1957 to start new careers and a family, then later moved to a farm in the Augusta area to enjoy wildlife and country living. Linda was a bright, energetic, feisty, and determined woman with many talents. She began a long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company while in high school in Medford, transferring to the Wichita office in 1957. She held many positions during the 31 years prior to her retirement in 1983. Post retirement, she attended Butler Co. Community College, graduating with honors with an Associate Degree in 1991. Following retirement she worked as a Para-professional in the Augusta (KS) School System for 5 years, and then worked as an Administrative Assistant to Farmland Insurance for another 6 years. She had been a member of St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Wichita and later First Baptist Church in Augusta. Linda will be remembered for her fun sense of humor, nervous energy, endearing stubborness, endless generosity, and fierce devotion to family. She enjoyed music, gardening, camping and boating with her family, traveling, and cruises with her husband, and most recently her 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Newell and Aggie (Bolte) Jordan, sister Joyce Clark, and brother Howard Jordan. Survivors include her husband Willis, daughter Debbie (Steve) Luper of Andover, son Don Currier of El Dorado, sisters, Aletta Schuermann of Siloam Springs, AR, and Lula (Bob) Elswick of Douglass, KS; grandchildren Joshua (Sarah) Luper of Augusta, Ashleigh Luper of Andover, great-grandchildren Ethan, Elijah and Mira Grace Luper of Augusta, many nephews and nieces. A private family graveside at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, KS will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Headley Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Victory in the Valley 3755 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67218.

Saturday, March 14,
2015 in Wichita.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 19; service 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, all at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, Kansas.
Lisa was born in Wichita, on June 21, 1978, to Sandra Sue (Anderson) McReynolds and Bobby Herman Bowdre. She had formerly worked at Subway in Augusta.
Survivors include: sons, Austin Tilcock, Andrew Bowdre and Samuel Cave, all of Augusta; mother, Sandra McReynolds and husband Jim of Joplin, Mo.; father, Bobby Herman Bowdre and wife Tonya of Wichita; brothers, Bryan Bowdre of Augusta and Jacob Bowdre of Wichita; step sisters, Shirena McReynolds of Park City and Cynthia Wood of Wichita; grandmother, Annie Givens of Oklahoma; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bowdre.

Victor L. Shumate, 64
Victor L. Shumate, 64, of Augusta, died March 12, 2015. Victor's life began on Jan. 4, 1951 in El Dorado, the son of Paul Bennett and Isa Lou (Gale) Shumate.
He was a graduate of El Dorado High School and Butler County Community College. He was a retired truck driver and care giver. Victor served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. His loving family includes his son Ben (Jackie Mai) Shumate of Ellinwood, grandchildren Aaron Shumate of Great Bend, Bradley Shumate of Ellinwood, and Haleigh Thorne of Great Bend, siblings Gerald (Gayle) Shumate of Springtown, TX, Jeff (Norma) Shumate of Charleston, MO, Jay Shumate of Erie, KS, and Jerry Shumate of Spring-town, TX, his mother Isa Lou Fisher of Augusta and step mother Shirley Shumate of Erie, KS. Victor passed away on March 12, 2015 at Kansas Medical Cen-
ter in Andover. He is preceded in death by a daughter Jayne Shumate, his father Paul Shumate and niece Hannah Shumate. His family will celebrate his life with a graveside service on Monday at 10 a.m. at Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, KS where military honors will be rendered.
