Richard Blasi dies at Pratt
Richard A. Blasi, 63, Pratt, an engineer at the Pratt Regional Medical Center and brother of Alvin Blasi of Augusta, died Tuesday at the Pratt medical center.
The rosary will be said at 7:30 o’clock tonight at the Larrison Mortuary in Pratt. Father Lysle Pottorf will officiate. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church there. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Pratt.
A memorial has been established with the Pratt Regional Medical Center gifts and bequests fund.
He was born July 26, 1921 to Leo and Anna Schnittker Blasi.
He married Lorraine Straub Oct. 29, 1949 in Pratt. She survives.
He received the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal for service in the U.S. Army-Air Force during World War II.
Other survivors include sons, Donald, Gary, Robert, all of Pratt; mother, Anna of Wichita; brothers, Floyd of Pratt, Vernon, Ronald, James, all of Wichita, Franklin, Paul, both of Schulte; sisters, Claren-tine Tasset of Pratt, Patricia Herron, Thelma Schulte, both of Wichita, Joan Kelley of Haven, Betty Lagaly of Colwich, Doris Werbach of Denver, Colo., Diane Dye of Colorado Springs, Colo., June Staab of Longmont, Colo., and five grandchildren.

Lelia Baker dies at hospital
Lelia Baker, 83, Route 2, died Wednesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery
She was born June 1, 1901 in Florence to Lee and Della Featherkile Mayhugh.
She married Byron Ray Baker May 11, 1916 in Wichita. He preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1971.
She lived in New Jersey, Indiana and California before returning to Augusta three months ago.
Survivors include sons, Byron E. Baker of Augusta, Richard H. Baker and Edward R. Baker, both of Escondido, Calif.; daughters, Dorothy M. Hime of Augusta, Juanita J. Kipers, Topeka, Laura Lee Langley, Medford, Ore., Patricia R. Pierson, Northridge, Calif., and Kathleen S. Nutter of Escondido; a brother, Robert Mayhugh, Augusta; 32 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
