Monday, March 25, 1985
Brother dies in Wichita
Kenneth V. Braddy, 74, Udall, brother of Pearl Busch of Augusta, died Friday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. His funeral was at 3 p.m. today at the Udall United Methodist Church. Rev. Gerel Devore officiated and burial was in the Udall Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Udall Senior Citizens Center.
He was born July 19, 1910 in Wichita to Henry and Eva Macy Braddy.
He married Antha V. Scobee March 3, 1934 in Moline. She preceded him in death.
He was a retired Cessna Aircraft Co., employee.
Other survivors include sons, Don of Udall, Dale of Daniel, Wyo., Dean of Elm Creek, Neb.; daughters, Karen Wall of Casper, Wyo., Barbara Hagebusch of Alluwe, Okla.; brothers, Carl of Wichita, Robert of Mulvane, Joe of Neosho, Mo.; 20 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Miles Mortuary of Winfield was in charge of arrangements.

Bertha J. Hale rites Tuesday
Bertha J. Hale, 91, Augusta, died Saturday at Walnut Valley Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Cochran Mortuary in Wichita. Burial will be in the Wichita Park Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 14, 1893 in Coyle, Okla., to John and Margaretta Bornholdt Bury.
She married Thomas Hale. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Dell Marquardt of Wichita.

Purdy funeral on Wednesday
Edna Purdy, 67, Wichita, sister of Alberta Brawner of Augusta, died Friday at the Riverside Hospital in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Culbertson-Smith Mortuary. Rev. Delmar Becker will officiate and burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
She was born Nov. 17, 1917 in Arkansas to Frank and Darthaula Hawkins Keys.
She married Milton J. Purdy in Harrison, Ark. He preceded
her in death in 1982.
Other survivors include sons, Jerry, Clifford, both of Wichita; daughter. Margaret Brown of Wichita; brothers, John Keys, Randolph Keys, both of Stillwater, Okla., Troy Keys of El Dorado, Eldon Keys of California; sisters, Marie Shultz of Stillwater, Okla., Ann Long of Hennessey, Okla., Zella Coffman of Yates Center; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Doris S. Gard dies at 87
Doris S. Gard, 87, Wichita, a former music teacher in the Douglass school systems, died March 20.
Her funeral was at 10 a.m. today at the All Saints Catholic Church in Wichita.
She earned a degree in piano, voice and public school music from Fairmount College, now Wichita State University.
She taught school in Garden Plain and Mulvane and was on the faculty of the Wichita School of Fine Arts, a private school that at that time taught voice, piano, painting, drama and dancing.
Survivors include sons, Shelly of West Palm Beach, Fla., Harry of Grand Island, Neb.; a sister, Carol Williamson of Mulvane; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Ethel Dull dies at 93
Ethel Winifred Eckartdt Dull, 93, Augusta, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Victor Forbes will officiate. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Marionville, Mo., cemetery and Rev. Jim Wilson will officiate.
She was born Oct. 16, 1891 in Imperial, Neb., to William H. and Ellen Gable Burbridge.
She married William J. (Bill) Eckhardt June 17, 1922 in Larned. He preceded her in death in 1933. She married Rev. J.L. Dull March 2, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1954.
She was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include sons, William J. Eckhardt of Augusta, Jack W. Eckhardt of Arlington Heights, Ill., and three grandchildren.

Brother dies in El Dorado
Walter F. Kenney, 81, Wichita, brother of Leota Stewart of Augusta, died Monday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Douglass Cemetery. Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate.
He was born Feb. 15, 1904 in Hume, Ill., to John and Jennie McKee Kenney.
This retired painter is also survived by a son, John D. Kenney of El Dorado; brothers, Russell of Arkansas City and Kenneth of Tulsa, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Keith Corbin Sr. dies at 66
David Keith Corbin Sr., 66, 1135 Ohio, died from an apparent heart attack while he was driving north of Augusta on Ohio Street yesterday afternoon.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 6, 1919 in Latham to Gordon E. and Florence Spangler Corbin.
He married O. Marie Ball Feb. 28, 1941 in Independence. She survives.
He was a retired metalsmith. He had worked 44 years for Beech Aircraft in Wichita. He was a member of the First Christian Church where he was an elder. He served in the Navy Air Force during World War II. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E., the American Legion and the Augusta Country Club.
Besides his wife, Marie, he leaves a son, David Keith Jr., of Augusta; daughter, Kathryn Owens, New York City, N.Y.; brothers, Phillip of Clinton, Okla., and Jim of Tonkawa, Okla.; sisters, Bonnie DeWeese of Ponca City, Okla., and Patricia Pruitt of Morrison, Okla., and a grandson, David K. Corbin.
