Leah C. McAmis dies at hospital
Leah Christine McAmis, 8, Wichita, great-granddaughter of Thelma Boyer of Augusta, died today at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cumberland Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Leah McAmis Heart Fund in care of the Peoples National Bank in Liberal, KS., 67901.
She was born June 12, 1976 in Dallas, Texas to Thomas and Rachel Jane Roberts McAmis.
Besides her parents, she leaves grandparents Burr and Shirley Roberts and Verl and Mary Byerley, all of Liberal, George and Peggy Steele of Ft. Worth, Texas.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Fannie Zerbe funeral held
Funeral services were Tuesday for Fannie M. Zerbe, 85, Longmont, Colo., aunt of Carter and Terry Zerbe of Augusta, and a sister of the late D.J. Zerbe.
She died Saturday at a nursing home in Longmont.
Surviving nieces and nephews include Joanne Steeves of Colorado Springs, Colo., Wesley Zerbe of Broomfield, Colo., and Mary Lee Klapwyk of Darby, Mont.
Irene Zerbe of Manitou Springs, Colo., and Florence Zerbe of Augusta are sisters-in-law.
Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Venita Broyles dies at 77
Venita Broyles, 77, Douglass, died Saturday at a Winfield hospital.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate and burial will be in the Douglass cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass United Methodist Church.
She was born March 23, 1908 in rural Douglass to Josiah and Susan Morgan Jones.
She married Leon Broyles Aug. 15, 1937 in Douglass. He survives.
She was a retired elementary school teacher.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Wichita Iris Society.
Other survivors include a brother, Owen Jones of Bartlesville, Okla.; a sister, Frances Janzen of Clearwater.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Andrews dies in Wichita
Robert R. Andrews, 67, rural El Dorado, died Friday at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Randy Gauger will officiate and burial will be in the Sunset
Lawns Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
He was born Sept. 22, 1917 in El Dorado to Edward and Margaret Tuttle Andrews.
He married Dot Marie Neer Dec. 23, 1947 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was retired from the U.S. Army. He was a caretaker at the Cerebral Palsy Ranch near Augusta.
Other survivors include sons, Bruce of El Dorado, Donald Lee of Toronto; a daughter, Linda Doan of El Dorado; brothers, Edward of Leon, Lewis, John, Jess, all of El Dorado, Bill of Montana; sisters, Mary Balch and Ruby Fritzler, both of El Dorado, and six grandchildren.

Nephew dies in Texas
Dr. David Veston Enz, 39, Houston, Texas, nephew of Mrs. John Harms of Augusta, died Friday from injuries suffered in a traffic accident.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Elkhart, Ind.
There will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel at Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart.
He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Enz of Elkhart. He was the emergency department director at Rosewood Hospital in Houston.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a son, Jason Noe Enz., and a brother, John Enz of Bordontown, N.J.
