H.H. Bailey dies at 76
H.H. Bailey, 76, of rural El Dorado died this morning at his home.
His services are pending at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
He was a retired boiler operator at the Mobil Oil refinery in Augusta.

Mother dies in Oklahoma
Rose Elizabeth Dempewolf, 83, Blackwell, Okla., mother of Rose Ridder of Augusta, died yesterday at a hospital in Blackwell.
The rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Roberts Chapel in Blackwell. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tonkawa, Okla. Rev. Cletus Bash will officiate and burial will be in the Blackwell IOOF cemetery.
She was born Nov. 27, 1901 in Reaville, Neb., to William and Ann Spenner Schieferecke.
She married Henry Dempewolf Nov. 24, 1921 in Colony. He preceded her in death Aug. 20,1983.
She was a member of the Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Other survivors include daughters, Irene Stegeman and Ethel Baxa, both of Blackwell, Mildred Sauer of LaCrosse, Mary Cullop of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Joe Dempewolf of Ponca City, Okla.; a brother Bernard Schieferecke of Dresden; 41 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Four sons also preceeded her in death.
A memorial has been established with the Center of Family Love, P.O. 245, Okarchie, Okla., 73762.

Frances Bowen dies at 68
Frances G. Bowen, 68, Denver, Colo., formerly of Douglass, died Monday.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Cumberland Cemetery, south of Augusta.
Survivors include a daughter, Neva J. Webster of Denver; brothers, W.L. Condor of El Dorado and J.M. Condor of Farmington, N.M.; sisters, Verda Getchel of Bradford, Pa., Margaret Newman of Ellin-wood, Fern Reyser, Luida Stafford and Ruth Adams, all of Douglass.

Graveside rites for H.H. Bailey
H.H. Bailey, 76. rural El Dorado, died Tuesday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado.
Rev. Victor Forbes will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
He was born Sept. 9, 1908 in El Dorado to Charles E. and Mabel Randall Baily.
He married Nanniel Cox Nov. 13, 1951 in Benton, Ark. She survives.
He was a retired Mobil Refinery worker.
Other survivors include sons, Melvin of Olathe, Donald of Clovis, N.M., Bob Ramsey of Kansas City, Mo., and Gene Cox of Bolder, Colo.; daughters, Betty Austin and Jeanienne Wiens, both of Towanda, Jane Nutting of Tiff City, Mo., Barbara Brush of Fort Worth, Texas and Toni Holbrook of Wichita; brothers, Charles of Salina and W.I. of El Dorado; sisters, Grace Robertson of Albuquerque, N.M., Tiny Malan and Susan Hall, both of El Dorado; 28 grandchildren, and 46 great-grandchildren.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

‘Willie’ Vaughn
Willeva “Willie” B. Vaughn,
58, 1201 Money, died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
A Christian wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the St.
James Catholic Church. Father David Cushing will officiate.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery in Winfield.
She was born May 24, 1926 in Floral to W.F. and Helen B.
Moore Pierce.
She married William F. Vaughn July 2, 1946 in Winfield.
He preceded her in death in 1971.
Vaughn was a purchasing agent at the Augusta Medical Complex before her retirement.
She also had worked at the Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
The administrator and staff of AMCI recently held a retirement party in her honor. She began working at the hospital
here in 1971.
A memorial has been established at AMCI.
She was a member of St.
James Catholic Church and the Women’s International Bowling Congress.
Survivors include sons, Burnie D. Vaughn of Sapulpa,
Okla., William L. Vaughn of Arkansas City; a daughter, Theresa M. Namey of Winfield; a brother, James E. Pierce of Augusta; a sister, Wanda Wimberly of Leon; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A daughter, Patricia L. Vaughn, also preceded her in death.
